I'd say I'm a real car guy. I may have my preferences and may fight hand over fist to prove that my preferences are correct, but I can nerd out the same amount over a Volkswagen Beetle that I can over a Mclaren 650S or a Ferrari 458, and everything in between.
I feel like I am a "real" car enthusiast because I appreciate all cars (excluding Priuses) and like to work on them. I count anyone who can go up to basically any car at a car meet/show and ask questions or just finds the car interesting in some way as a car enthusiast. I also include people who are constantly thinking about cars in general to be enthusiasts, but not people that fanboy/girl about one single car and have delusions about it being the "best car ever that nothing can beat" and force that opinion on everyone. You can be fan of a car, or you can be a fanboy of a car, there is a very large difference. Just my thoughts, not meant to offend anyone
I don't know who doesn't hate the old Countryman, although I actually like the new 2017 Countryman (it actually looks sort of like a Mini).
I still hate anyways, and the 2017 one made it look WAY MORE BLOATED than last time. --- Post updated --- Am I the only one confused why there's an Acura that happens to be an Civic [rebadge, of course], and it was sold in Canada?
Because Canadians have a bigger compact market, and because many Acura customers wouldn't even check the Civic. --- Post updated --- I'm the über-enthusiast, since I even like Priuses.
Also, it was apparently the template for the JDM Civic at that time. Surprisingly, the CSX was one of those one-generation Acuras, like the SLX, RSX, and Vigor. It also seems like people like it enough that they want to customize it.
You act like people customizing an Acura's a new thing, or rather people "liking a car" enough that they'd customize it, anything would be possible for any car, even if it turns out to be horrible and disastrous.
I know that people customize other Acuras (especially the RSX, NSX, and the Integra). Also, you do have a point on the customizing, people do tune cars that are hated/bad like the Yugo/Prius (hated) and the Citation/Vega.
The Vega is not a bad car to tune - it is a good balance between lightness and fitting a V8 in the engine bay.
Who the hell tunes a Citation, it's rare to even see one yet alone a "tuned" one. I don't think such a thing is even possible.
Google Tuned/Custom Citation, and you will get an few images. --- Post updated --- I meant the car itself, not the tuning for the car.
You can tune anything, really. Sometimes you might have to make the parts yourself, which is pretty creative... as long as it doesn't become an ricer car.
I do not have a problem with ricers - they are, after all, built by people who care about cars enough to modify them. Maybe not modify properly, but it's the attempt that matters.
Well, not always. The cheapest ricers.... definitely look like an joke. Not all cars are usually tuned, like the MDX, or the Edsel.
Edsels are certainly hotrodded. And the lack of MDX tuning shows how much of a beigiemobile it is - even Camrys get modified!
Plus most car guys think riced cars are badly made eyesores, but I have seen some base model cars that looks like a blonde with a nice chest and loves giving bear hugs.
I guess there's not a lot of people who consider MDX as a car that deserves tuning, or seems right to tune. It also seems the EL is rarely tuned, and is often the old ones. --- Post updated --- It just really depends on how you view ricers. I just find those riced cars strange, or just out of place.
