72 hours more than likely, though I don't have any more time to spare for it, so more than likely yes. Then you have to wait on the moderators to review the mod, which will delay it to probably almost a week from now because I'd more than likely be uploading it late on Friday or sometime on Saturday. Again, that doesn't guarantee it will be out then, because they may reject it and ask me to do something or have some reason not to accept it. After this, I have more important things to do for the time being. I have another persons mod to finish up, and I need to move out of where I'm living. I think I can squeeze that into 3-4 weeks, as long as this is out.
I'm crying tears of joy. I've been stalking this thread for a while now and the release being as close as it is is a bit shocking to be honest. I was expecting maybe another year or so since I haven't seen too many mods all the way through release just yet but wow the hype is just like that at the start of the LMSC but I see it staying that way for a way longer period of time seeing how Corvette styled cars in general seem quite popular. Either way I am quite excited to take it out for a few spins and a phew "accidents", totally not going to ram it into a wall or drive off a cliff.
mods are really scarce lately, I have been playing Prop Hunt waiting for The Crew 2's release which was delayed a few months, after a year of playing Beam I kind of rely on mods for fun now
Since I have too much to do to read pages 16-31, is the 423 still aftermarket-only in this car? Also, did Superchu Frostbite's angry-bomb logo ever make it into anything? Asking because... reasons.
423 is still "technically" aftermarket, though I am preparing a stock config with it... I think it will be called the Central Office Special, in reference to the COPO Camaros. I will reveal configs later on and explain what each one is. As for the logo, I don't think it did. I don't have much time to worry about missing aesthetics (there are a few missing that you will probably notice at least one or 2 things,) since I have quite a bit of important JBeam tweaking left to do. I've been spending all day today weeding out small bugs and deformation issues, and trying to fix small issues in terms of part clipping. And it seems like with each fix, I open up a new can of worms that needs attention. His crossed pen and sword logo made it onto the front end, and it just happened to stay put, despite not being a perfect fit. He will be credited, and I will probably incorporate some of his other logos into a future version of the mod when I have the time again to sort out aesthetics. Within reason of course, nothing stupid.
Good to know for tuning my above-mentioned overwrought backstory. If you are planning on incorporating the bomb logos, I'd almost call that unfortunate. I don't think they'd fit this or anything as factory logos... but they'd be literally perfect as in-universe equivalents of the various "I'm a Bad Dude just look at this sticker" decals you can find around ("Fear This", "Does not play well with others", etc.). The character itself could be called BombBoy as a forum shout-out.
Meh, idk yet... I realize what I typed... I am forgetting literally half of what's going on here. My bad, this is a really bad time for me right now :/ Those weren't the ones I was thinking of. They'd be limited to a skin if that. I apologize for mentioning that. I will edit my original post.
Hey, no problem. I understand you're busy & I should probably stop posting in this thread. Still, though, it's nice to see this thing almost out. Hopefully it'll still work by the time I can afford an actually decent computer.
No time :/ I want to but that will just have to come later. I will save his skins for later, though he will still be credited on release day for contributing.
Are there any other skins you guys would like to see? If nothing then I’ll just continue to make whatever.
Meh, hold on to them until I get this out... I have enough right now... I have a simple racing skin from @Honest Nick , a snake skin from @MisterKenneth , and your assortment of skins. Oh and my skin which is just the UV layout @SandwichesANDmilk 's skins will have to wait because I don't have time to fix his stripe skin to work with the color changing system, the stickerbomb skin isn't complete enough IMO, and the Police skin doesn't have appropriate police equipment to compliment it yet. Configs time It's morning my time, but oh well... A slimmed down approach, also adjusted the model years to be 1967-1972. Pre-facelift models run from 1967-1969, facelift models run from 1969-1972 (Mid year change) I still need to figure out how to do performance stats, though I may not do this if I don't have the time to (You have to test each individual configuration IIRC.) To keep things as simple as possible for now, I structured the lineup as this; 1967-1969; Base (291, 353) Luxe (291, 353) Roadsport (353) 1969-1972; Base (291, 353) Roadsport (353) Then you have your various other configs with skins, aftermarket parts, or even that mysterious "Corporate Office Special"... This is essentially the current lineup the way it will be at the time of release. I still have quite a bit of work to do, but at-least a few things are out of the way today
I think you should take all the time you need to add in the extra racing parts and stuff, even if it means the release being delayed for a week or so. Take your time.
Read OP on page 1. I would like to inform you all that the upload has been delayed until next week sometime, since I found issues that I absolutely must fix in the vehicle before I release it. One of which was I figured out why the rear leaf spring was sagging and overall just not behaving like it should. That unfortunately resulted in what is more than likely going to be a suspension overhaul in order to fix unwanted behavior. This shouldn't take too long, I am pretty quick and efficient with JBeaming things nowadays. I won't be able to complete any other mods, such as @Atlas 's Stryder Propeller, but this one is far enough along that I can just barely get it out before I pack to move, as long as no more nasty surprises or forgotten issues pop up... Yeah, I'm sure some might... It's been in development a bit too long. I think there are a few parts worth mentioning... The default racing config will look like this at release... For the most part anyway (I may add a rear wing or spoiler to this, and some other things.) Up front you have an add-on chin spoiler thingy (Idk what else it'd be called. It may not look pretty but it's JBeamed in properly and affects the vehicle.) Then you have a dented hood, which can fit a stage 1 or 2 supercharged V8 under it. Also you have a cut hood too for larger superchargers; (Pictured below is the Corporate Office Special config with the hood swapped, a 353 V8, and a stage 3 supercharger) Next up, a simple roll-cage; Idk how accurate the model is, again because I don't do a lot of racing stuff, I don't completely know my way around designing everything completely. But it does work, as it is JBeamed in just like the rest of the official rollcages are (The Barstow anyway is a single node with beams connecting outwards to rigidify the structure.) And you have racing suspension components both front and rear (I may prepare a coil spring swap for this, the rear leaf spring really doesn't hold up too well when racing this thing seriously.) You get 2 engines built more for racing. One is a N/A only engine, the 423 V8 (Featured in the Corporate Office Special, not available in regular stock configs.) This engine can be built from stock up to fully decked out. Perfect for those muscle car builds. Next you get the 532 V8, a custom, highly modified version of the 423 V8. In short terms, it's a horsepower and torque monster. There are others I may be missing, but this should be most of what I have atm. More may make it in since I ended up having to shift things around in terms of schedule so I could make sure that this mod gets released.
