Maybe somebody can port some of the ROR vehicles into Beam. I believe they have J-Beam. It would ebe evry cool to see some of the classic ROR cars, kind of a blast from the past.

Gabester has said multiple times that he doesn't want to see cars ported into BeamNG from ROR, because they're not up to scratch as newer models.

Assuming he was talking about gabester's cars and not some of the hundreds of others. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Eitherway in almost all cases it would be a no as most RoR creators have a strict no porting rule on their models.

    Correct.

It'd also be an extremely hard task, as, as far as I know is that ROR doesn't use JBeam.
Got to look at the files myself though, sadly the ROR website was taken down and there's no other download portal that won't give you malware.

Because, as simple as it is, you will have to realise that, almost EVERY topic before has been answered, you're beating the dead horse.
Go look at search results and you conclude the answer there.
    The answer is:
No, cars won't be ported from ROR.

Not really, as it's gotten so old now that it's the age of the English language.

Get your facts straight: there are so many RoR vehicles other than gabester's...

Like, the CRD mod started its life as a RoR vehicle ported to BeamNG thanks to automatic converters.

Whatever, RoR vehicles have been ported before (often by their original authors). "Cars won't be ported" is a bit drastic, and not respective of reality.

Why not just play RoR instead?

If porting from ROR to BeamNG was so popular, there'd be atleast 3 vehicles on the site that are ROR ports.
I do believe there are only 2.

Never said it was popular. It's not impossible, though, nor so improbable.

Porting vehicles is possible (why not?), but still require some work (contrary to popular belief that it's easier).
At the end, if you want to make proper mods you will always have to spend some decent amount of time on it.

Said that, you should always ask permission to the original authors before doing anything.
And you already know Gabe's answer regarding his vehicles.

Which is that Gabe does not want his older RoR-era vehicles ported over to BeamNG. Though the Gavril Bandit was an exception.

I reckon you could get away with it if you heavily edit the body to make it look up to scratch and then ask him.

I apologize for this whole kerfuffle. I did not know he had previously said anything.

Its fine... judging by your join date, unless you wend digging through some really old threads you wouldn't have known. I think his original statement was made back in like... 2013 or something? It was a long time ago by this point and people have just been passing it down ever since.

Thing is though, it's become so well known on this forum why would you not know it exists?

It is well known, but unless one of these threads pop up where people physically talk about it, no one really mentions it anywhere else (I mean... why would there be a need too?)

Granted... the most recent thread on the subject was created just this February... so I can see that it wasn't searched for before making a thread.

To be honest I don't like these threads going up in the recent posts thing.
