2019 Toyota Avalon/Auris

The previous one looked like a coffee break doodle.

This one actually looks smooth enough to be a car.

 

At this rate, there's a chance Toyota might be able to style a car properly before I die.

 

The new Auris is certainly not a beauty, but not when you think of its predecessor.

Pictured: a Renault fanboy, angry at somebody comparing a some filthy other car to a precious Renault.

 

I like Megane's design. It looks more dynamic and modern than, for example, Fiat Tipo. New 2019 Toyota Auris looks just as redesigned Megane.

Well, this looks like the more deadly Yaris's brother instead of an standard Toyota hatchback.

 

Are we really discussing which generation of the automotive equivalent of a dishwasher looks better?

 

Tipo is one of the last tastefully designed modern cars in my opinion.

 

Also one of the few compacts that looks better as a sedan than as an hatchback, since the sedan was styled first and not the other way around.

 

Tipo is designed beautifully, but Megane looks more modern judging by the design.

 

From what I have learned, modern is the complete opposite of beautiful.

 

Complete disagreement from me.

 

So, any cars that look both modern and beautiful?

 

Does the Giulia fit that description?

 

Certainly not a staggering beauty, but could have been worse. Also Giulia is a sports sedan, so aggresive style suits it.

 

Totally agree, not the most prettiest sedan, but the style is very suiting.

 

We simply have different tastes.

 

Even if AR had prettier designs before (Giulia is very derivative, and the Angry Bird frontend is not everyone's cup of tea), they managed to style the car better than the competition.

Not an hard task, when the competition is ze germanz...
