Are there going to be different bed options available?

We know that a tow truck bed is likely to make an appearance at some point - the bindings to control it are in-game, and the model for it is in the game files.

Hopes are extremely high for a utility box bed, which would allow the D-series to be used for various commercial purposes (including a small fire engine), but so far, we have not yet seen any indication that this is planned.

My personal hope is for a stepside bed. In theory, this would be a fairly simple undertaking - narrow the stock bed and apply the dually fender flares. I'm actually not sure why this hasn't already happened.

100% agree it needs more than just a boring bed, maybe even a 8 foot bed

It would be possible right now to have long bed for medium frame with regular cab (maybe even on long frame with extended cab). Three frames give us a lot of possibilities, but I don't know how about long frame. It might be little too different?

Not currently possible. Extended cab is too long, so a long bed on the same frame wouldn't have the right length. Shortening the extended cab could work, but in real life only Ford did it that way, and having been in the back of one of the Fords in question at one point, I can say that the back seats in a truck made that way are useful only for children 5 and under.

I've actually have a long bed mod that works with every cab ready (I had to add 4 new frames (2 standard and 2 heavy duty). It will be released when I finish my other projects.

As for the possibility of an official long bed, see this post by @gabester .

The thing I really want is a long utility flatbed that works with the extended frame and regular cab. The existing flatbed is great for off-road use, but those wheel cutouts make it very difficult to use when you want to haul barrels or haybales.

Would a modified H-series's flatbed mounted on a pickup make you happy? :D If so then I could make one in about a week time. (hopefully)

ive gotta say the 5.5 v8 dose not make up for a 6.6 diesel in a 3500 truck.

Know its a bump but would you ever consider adding classic parts that are 50's and 60's style similar to ones found on the first Ford F100's or Chevy C10's or an old Dodge? It could actually mean we could build some really cool hot rods and configs, and that could attract more users to the game. I can just imagine a pro touring 50's style D Series or a slammed air bagged D Series that looks like an old F100.
