Update Speculation thread

i hope so, but as they said it is hard to replicate bugs they aren't seeing...

 

A little fun fact (please don't take this as confirmation of the update coming today): I just checked in the Devblog and according to that Version 0.9 was released on April 14, which last year was the Friday before Easter. And you can probably guess which day is today... That would be funny if 0.12 is actually released today, but the most important bit is that the update comes (even if soon), not when it comes.

Another little thing: In the vehicles/lua part of the 0.9 changelog, under Lightbars it said:

• Lightbars: Cleanup, Improved ‘ETK800 Lightbar’ model, added flares, improved materials, implemented custom lightbar patterns

The only vehicle where I have seen these lightbar patterns is the Sunburst, it even has a special key assigned to that, but it hasn't been used on any other lightbars, or am I mistaken?

 

I honestly don't see 0.12 coming today or probably not even next week. They usually tease stuff a lot more just before an update is released.

 

Seeing as Easter is coming soon, there could be an "egg hunt" thing similar to the "snowman hunt" thing during Christmas...

 

Yeah, and I didn't say it is coming today, I just pointed this out.
(I don't even have an opinion on the release date and I do not want to discuss about any release dates either, I tried to make that post as neutral as possible with my limited English writing skills as it's not my native language.)

 

Well, Easter is at the same day as April Fools, so... Maybe they're trying to make us think they won't release an update as a joke but then drop the biggest update yet?

 

That'd be quite fun, if the devs have time for it, remember they have lives and families as well...

this might happen... but if we discuss it the devs might see it and realize we found them out and they would suspend the update. so dont talk about it!

 

you will LOVE it. (both the book and the movie) so far Ready Player One is the only movie to break the "the movie is never as good as the book" rule!

What's the bet that BeamNG will drop an update that does like one thing and nothing else on april fools. Like changes all car's to an april fools skin or something

 

The skin that was activated with the winter mod is actually in the base game's files. I wonder if they'll activate that with the update just because, though I highly doubt it.

 

Maybe they will write a devblog post for "0.12" and have the only change be something really tiny, like "Sunburst gearing slightly tuned" or "Piano can now change color"

Then you update the game for this simple little thing, and are met with the Bus and the Bluebuck.

 

Sounds like a great way to piss off content creators who need to know what the changes are

 

Like Inertia said, that would royally annoy content creators who need to understand what changes they need to do to their mods.

Also, Bluebuck has 0% chance of showing up in 0.12. Why, I'm not even sure if the bus will make it into 0.12, considering how there still hasn't been a thread for it yet.

 

I wouldn't consider the lack of thread as evidence. Gabe made all the threads, but the bus is by CarlosAir, someone typically more reserved when it comes to keeping the community updated
