So, what's your guys' favorite rock/ metal bands? I'd just like to ask that IF YOU DON'T LIKE ROCK OR METAL PLEASE DON'T FEEL INCLINED TO TELL ME SUCH. Just don't comment My Favorites would have to be System of a Down and Mastodon. SOAD's mix of Alternative, Nu-Metal sound, Serj Tankian's beautiful voice, and whimsical lyrics make them perfect. Mastodon, on the other hand, has some of the best riffs in the metal business, and their concept albums are all beautiful works of storytelling woven in with metal. Plus the stoner elements only add further to the awesomeness that this band is. So I've said my favorites, what're yours?
I already have a couple in mind: Slipknot Korn Deftones Linkin Park Disturbed Metallica Stone Sour FFDP Lamb of God Guns 'n Roses Any Given Day
Interestingly, the metalcore band I listed (Any Given Day) had an collab with the vocalist of Trivium.
In no particular order, because I'd have no clue to what is my actual favorite: Queen Bon Jovi The Alarm U2 Guns N Roses AC/DC Van Halen Foreigner Pink Floyd The Clash Journey
Metallica, AC DC, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Dragonforce (pls dont hate) Guns N' Roses, Van Halen. Other bands I like: Kansas, ELO, Rolling Stones, STYX, Coldplay.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Boston, Aerosmith, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Arctic Monkeys, Rolling Stones.
Here's some new favorites: Dealey Plaza In Dying Arms Thy Art Is Murder She Must Burn Sharks In Your Mouth The Devil Wears Prada Solence Jonathan Davis
I'm probably in wrong topic, but anyway, in no particular order as placement on list varies day by day: Once a human Serenity in murder Frantic Amber Gyze (try Black bride album, melancholic sound is just perfect in that) Black Knight Symfonia Veiled in Scarlet Thousand eyes Diabolic Phantasma Imperial Circus Decadence Marchen Station Yousei Teikoku (sounds cute, is completely out of place on this list, but it has certain elements...) D.A.M (Brazilian band, try Phantasmagoria) Harakiri for the sky (I only like Aokigahara) Kovenant Windir Mystic Circle (Band has only one album, Infernal Satanic Verses) This I play when those door to door traveling religious messengers arrive, they leave usually in haste, few pentagrams at walls help I guess... These are perhaps something 'normal' people barely can manage listen, unlike those above which I have seen people twisting their faces to funny positions if I have managed to have some victims to explore my musical distastes. Dragon guardian Xiphea Wildpath Helloween Battle Beast 1 point for each you know and like to listen, so how many points you got? There is literally hundreds of bands that I could put on my favorite list, but despite these are classed as metal, somehow I do get impression I'm at wrong topic here, but there is still another path of metal which leads to bands like Cannibal corpse, Destroyer666 which I most often leave even without mentioning as people can start act bit odd ways from that branch of metal
Aw, i don't really have a favourite, but here are the ones i like: Metallica Megadeth Slayer Slipknot Anthrax Sepultura Pantera Hellyeah Breaking Benjamin 5FDP Stone Sour Devour The Day Skid Row Avatar The Misfits
Let's do a little division of genres Top 3, imo, for each sub-genre of rock. Links to my favorite song by each. Grunge/Post-Grunge Highly Suspect Foo Fighters Shinedown Hard Rock QOTSA Breaking Benjamin Chris Cornell (and his bands) Indie Rock Arctic Monkeys Modest Mouse Awolnation Alt Metal Three Days Grace (mostly older TDG, going back all the way to Groundswell) Clutch Nickelback (mostly prior to ATRR they had good music. Bite me, bandwagon riders. ) (I'd include Lostprophets if the Watkins hadn't royally fucked up everything...) There is a ton of great Alt-Metal bands out there, hard to choose them. Punk Rock Rise Against Bayside Offspring Alt Rock Brand New Muse The Smashing Pumpkins Classic Rock (not really a genre, just older rock bands) Grateful Dead Billy Joel Guns N Roses Metal Ozzy AC/DC Metallica Again, really hard to choose. Power Metal Nightwish Pathfinder Dragonforce (yes, of TTFAF fame) ---- There's tons of really good bands that I didn't mention because I wanted to limit it to 3 per subgenre. If I didn't this post would be novel-length long
Even more.... Ice Nine Kills (I recommend them if you want some head-banging material) Fuel (especially second and third albums) Creed Three Days Grace Green Day Staind Godsmack Shinedown Evanescence (I recommend their older albums, they are quite enjoyable and have some nostalgic factors )
