I don't know exactly what you're talking about, but when you alt tab out, you should make sure to hit Alt+Enter upon re-entering to go back to full screen. Mine is in a windowed/borderless mode that drops frames when I tab out and back in, so I always have to remember to go back to full screen. As far as it affecting chrome, it may be possible, but I'm so used to that kind of crap happening that I probably am just really good at ignoring it lol.
Nice driving. This clip brings up an issue I have. Does anyone else feel like the engine sound proximity has gotten worse in the game? Seems that if someone is 2 seconds from ya on the race track, the sound their car makes is the same as when they are right on top of you, and also there is no build up. It is just all of a sudden noisy versus no noise at all. Kinda understand what I mean?
I've noticed this too. Quite a few times I'll peek back thinking someone's on my tail only to see them much further away. Definitely annoying when in the lead thinking you have some breathing room. Oh lookie..Found a screenshot:
Here's a little for-fun challenge for whoever wants to try. Crash Canyon - 1 Lap - Expert AI - Class A - No assists - Realistic Damage See what position you can get in by the end of one lap. This gives you no room for error. Screenshots or vid if you want to. I got 1st with 41.246 and 58 health. I think it would be awesome if Wreckfest had weekly challenges a la MotorStorm: Apocalypse.
Will give it a go. Armor outfit is a big factor here and should be set the same for everyone. Looks like your Rammer is in the 6-7 range? Then again the point is probably to merely survive, period.
@Aboroath I apologize to the side of your car on behalf of the passenger-side front fender of my Rammer Our first "race" was more of a "slam into the other at each turn" than a race lol But the one race where you ran into the barrier separating the two paths I was dying of laughter the whole rest of the race, it was just too funny. You kicked my ass on Sandpit Short though, I finally got separated from the pack and you were like halfway around the track. Finally got caught up and you had gone across the finish line 5 seconds before.
Lol....that first race was kinda' weird. I have all sorts of excuses for why I couldn't stay out of the walls, the one I will use now is that I seem to have "lost touch" with my beloved Roadcutter lately. Please buy it..haha. Hey, it was fun to see you pop in and finally and get the opportunity to race your vaunted Rammer. I must say it has a sleeper and rather sinister vibe about it and I'll be honest in saying I really thought you were just being easy on me in the Sandpit race. That damn mixed track where I ate the end of the guardrail, I call it the "heart attack on dirt". We probably had a hell of a race in the works before that little screw up! Too bad I had a mandatory meeting to attend at the end there! My Roadcutter and I have decided an "open" relationship is best and I'm going to start seeing the Speedbird for a spell..ha!

I watched him slam into a wall full speed on Mixed 3 and then he proceeded to spam chat with stuff about how "everybody here is an asshole" and "you all drive dirty." Dude did this a few times and every time he felt like he had to defend his ego. I play this game for a little challenging fun, not to listen to a 11 year old (look at his username) cry because he doesn't understand the concept of braking.
Lol. It is funny when new people come online and expect to be clean raced in Wreckfest. I had my bouts too but quickly learned the test of character. In all truthfulness the vile ones aren't so much the whiny spoiled brats expecting kid glove treatment but the ones dishing out the misery for a living. They can't race worth a fuck, bad mouth and insult everyone and generally spend the entire race driving around killing half the field with impunity. They have the admin schedules figured out to a T and usually never get banned. Even worse is the pathetic Stockholm syndrome a lot of other players exhibit when these sociopath psychos are "in charge". None the less when they are online I try to make a game out of ruining their fun by out driving them or dishing it right back when possible. Anyway, the theme of my crappy night..lol

Raging at his own "impunity", yes. Perhaps he ought to be in Assetto and not Wreckfest. There was also some twitch player and I always make it a goal to wreck the Twitch players because... idk. I guess I'm a dirty racer in my own right, ain't that right @Aboroath ?
It seems like there is an underlying impression the twitch gang (and their minions), are using hacks etc. Whether this is true or not IDK, nor do I personally care. I feel the top dogs will always be a target and if they can't handle the heat then that's on them. They make money doing it so I wouldn't feel the slightest bit sorry wrecking them if they are being dicks. On another subject: Any of you guys dug into the modding aspect yet? I have investigated it a little and it seems Wreckfest keeps a majority of it's stuff behind proprietary file extensions that require their custom software bits to open/modify. It also appears the modding situation is in flux just like BeamNG, every update breaks things. I want to make custom car skins, tracks and to modify the damage modeling code at some point. I don't think Wreckfest will ever be able to match BeamNG in pure deformation magic but it would be a blast to try!
I tried modding WF to make some skins but it isn't nearly as fun or streamlined compared to BeamNG. I leave the game stock most of the time.
Yeah, aside from the very track pack I haven't bothered with mods. It's weird how I can't get online with ANY mods enabled...all servers X'ed out until I disable and restart. The 57' chev skin still shows in the vehicle preview even after disabled. I REALLY hope they allow deformation modding. I love the deform for what it is but I am such a freak about it and want to make it "better". Speaking of VeryTrackPack, I would love to have Black Sail Valley in Multiplayer, BAD. Boy, I'm chatty today..lol.
