I still hold out so much hope for the Beaufort. Beamng just wouldn't be complete without the capacity for seventies/eighties police chases. My money would be on something in the same league as a Mercury Marquis, Buick Electra or Oldsmobile 98 of the same era. Remember that Burnside is Gavril's "mild luxury" division.
I don't know why they may need it, since one of the highest quality mods available is the '80s American Fullsize series. Could be nice to see something under one of the Beam brands, but not as a high priority or anything.
While the '80s Fullsize mod is nice, high quality, and a good stopgap - it remains a mod. The dev team can't use mods to create campaigns or promote the game. Besides, what I'm hoping for is a contemporary of the Moonhawk. Something from around 1971-1977: Heck, even a 4-door version of the Moonhawk would suffice. I'm getting sick of the Detective special being my sole option for period car chases.
random thought on the wentward fire truck theory. while iv'e never personally seen a fire truck like this, (and it may just be weird design choices on behalf of lego, but this fire truck set seems almost as if the front of it is based off a bus.
It only looks similar... The bus is Rear Engined, while all of the fire trucks are front or mid engined, and non of them use the low floor design I'm pretty sure. So while the front part might look simmilar, everything under it and behind it is different. The T-series in a cabover spec would be more sensible.
A suprising number of European fire trucks seem to essentially be chopped-off buses. Take this Mercedes-Benz Econic for example.
Sounds like something came out from Australia... (well, IRL Ford does makes cars in Australia until 2016)
Whenever I've been to Europe, all their firetrucks (sorry europeans firefighters) are kind of weak. They're usually a Mercedes or Scania cabover with the low-entry floor, and they always have little wussy engines with like 250hp. The wentward engine would be a great example. American fire engines are too large for anything from that bus. The frame is too weak, the engine is too weak and the layout is all wrong. There's no way an American firetruck with a front mounted 5-600hp engine and a huge water tank on the back could go on that frame. It would snap like a twig. Sorry for ruining your dreams, thats just the way it is. And yellow, this isn't targeted at you, just people who think a wentward fire engine is coming.
We usually havent got those big fire engines as our towns arent that big so we need to be able to fit in there also our fire trucks are normaly just truck chassis with a bigger cabin and so on
I suppose I'm talking about how the wentward frame simply isn't heavy duty enough to accomodate an american firetruck
As mentioned, they must fit our roads. And our fires. Buildings made entirely of flammable materials are almost non-existent here, and most modern buildings have fire prevention/suppression systems built in. We also use planes (Canadair) in most situations that require bigger vehicles, such as forestal fires.
At no point did I believe that the existing Wentward frame/ would be useful for an American fire engine. The layout is wrong, the suspension is wrong, the frame isn't strong enough, etc. I should note that the TCM isn't quite as puny as it looks - it mainly trades power for torque, and that Cummins offers engines specifically designed for American fire apparatus with as few as 260 horsepower. However, as most fire engine cabs are fitted by specialty manufacturers who license or purchase engines, and Wentward is a specialty manufacturer that appears to have licensed or purchased a Gavril engine, the possibility remains that they may have two sides to their business. That possibility, whether we agree with it or not, will remain until it is either officially confirmed or denied by the development team. And while I find the Econic above to be entirely laughable (so long as I'm not currently on fire), one cannot dismiss that Europe does possess proper equipment:
look steam I have a 300MB update for beamng and I allready have the first hotfix https://steamdb.info/app/284160/depots/
