Let me preface this by saying that this IS NOT in any way based on the previous Firebird/Trans Am mods on the forums. I did however use the 1981 Turbo Trans Am addon as a scaling reference for the model while I was importing mine into Blender. My aim with this mod is to include as many versions of the second-gen GM F-Cars as I can (and also be the first BeamNG mod with optional air conditioning!). This includes both the flat rear window and wrap around rear window variants, T-Tops/ Hardtops, the Camaro (eventually), and the plethora of other parts these cars came with over the years. So far I've prepped the 1975-1981 wraparound Firebird body from Forza and most of the materials. I've begun work on the JBeam and have resolved as many errors as I can, the main one barring progress being a CTD having something to do with the steering pump mesh. Images and a download are below for anyone who would like to contribute, I am also trying to do some work on it, though I have a busy schedule so it may take some time. I just wanna say good luck on this. My first car was a 77 Trans Am (still have it) and I've been hoping someone would make one for beam since I got the game.
Tried to load. Crashed every time. Are you aware of this? It might just be my computer. If so let me know.
I own a '79, my dad has a '79, and we have enough parts to build half of any other year second gen, pm me if you need reference pics
That's the bug I need help fixing, the main reason I started the thread was to get some support and feedback on it, not expecting the community to come together and build a whole new awesome freaking vehicle like they did with the '86 Bronco, but hoping somebody can help me tackle this error in particular.
This does not work for me at all. It crashed beamng, even when its the only mod. I went into the files and deleted some strange looking files, and idk if it will work now --- Post updated --- Its not your computer
You sure you made this? Very suspicious when someone shows up out of the blue with a professional looking model, almost always a dead giveaway that the model is ripped from a game/a GTA mod/one of Carface's models. I don't see any evidence of development in the mesh, so I am lead to believe you stole this model (also I believe there is A GTA mod with that exact same model, hmmmm)
Is it possible that the model isn't It does look like the one from GTA, the only thing I can't see on the GTA one is that this one has windshield wipers. Now if this is a GTA model then I think credit would be good. Looking more into it, the design is almost exactlly the same. Only difference I can find with this model and the GTA one is that it has windshield wipers.
Here's a shot of the wireframe for the main exterior body panels (I didn't feel like merging them all and going into edit mode; End. of. Discussion. He clearly didn't make the model. He even stated so in the thread if you were actually capable of reading something more than a paragraph long. Hopefully someone can confirm that this actually did come from Forza, otherwise some serious explaining needs to happen.
I would love to get this in Beam. My dad had a ‘73 Trans Am as his first car and still has it. Even though it’s rotting from rust, it’s still my favorite muscle car from the 70s. Please don’t let this car die now
