Unique that is for sure. I am not sure what compelled you to do it either but hey I like these type of things.
What follows is a reply to @BarmyPark, as the reviews section isn't a great place for me to elaborate on details. But anyone wanting to know more about/potentially use Substance Painter may take an interest nonetheless. I actually didn't use Substance Designer, but Substance Painter. Designer is for creating high-detail tileable textures for surfaces such as walls, ceilings, or landscapes (and looks quite promising, but I've yet to give that one a go). Painter is for individual assets with their own UV maps, and as such is better for mechanical objects, characters, weapons, furniture, etc. If you're wanting to try it, there is a 30-day free trial version that is, near as I can tell, as feature-rich as the full version. After that, you can either invest in a perpetual license, and get just painter and just the current version, but never have to make further payments, or invest in a cloud plan, and get later updates and the full suite of programs (Painter, Designer, etc.) in exchange for making regular payments. If this doesn't sound doable financially, what I'd recommend is downloading the free trial version only after watching various tutorials on Painter to familiarize yourself with the program, and lining up any assets you want to paint to prepare them for the process. That way, once you get the program and the trial period has begun, you won't waste as much time learning how to use it or setting meshes up to be painted, and will have more time to actually use it.
Is it possible to add normal wheels (like 14-15 inch wheels) in an update? Since I don't want to download a map that would lag on my laptop, I think it would be fun to drive in different maps (maybe)
I've been contemplating making the flanges separable parts, so that they could be swapped or omitted completely. That would make the handcar driveable on flat ground (and would be the way I'd make a flange setup that would work with Crash Junction's streetcar tracks). I'm trying to picture how that'd work. Did you just set the pickup down on the platform? I'm not really in the market for more to do at the moment. And while I'd love to get a good, proper locomotive in Beam, steam engines aren't really possible due to the way the valve gear would need to move in sync with the driving wheels.
I' --- Post updated --- I'm still waiting for someone to make Thomas the Dank Engine... OT: Cool mod, it's certainly unique.
at first yes, i just put the truck on top of the cart without the walking beam, but after further experimentation, and alot of patience with using the editor to clip and lock them into the truck. i've managed to get one axle on each end of the truck, just like real hi-rails. it can handle speeds up to 45 mph on turns. its not perfect, but its something

I was wondering if you could bring these rail wheels over to the Ibishu Covet? Considering the covet without tires fits or the track perfectly, these rail wheels I think would work great!
Unfortunately, the handcar actually has only two jbeam wheels that are bound to the two axles, rather than four jbeam wheels that are designed to fit just the wheels themselves. In summary, it'd look kinda funky.
