I'm not exactly sure if this is the bug you are talking about, but if you have the "edge from face" option selected in the blender exporter plugin, than it will create duplicates of all nodes and beams in some cases. Try disabling that option, i hope this helps.
Regardless of selected options, it would seem that no matter how simple or complex the object is it tries to generate ~20K lines of Jbeam for it which makes the files really bloated and just generally causes problems. I'm sticking to reshaping the Barstow Jbeam from here on out anyways as this way the strength and rigidity of key nodes is preserved better they work better for deformation. The one Blender plugin-generated JBeam I may keep is for the actual body shell as I'm not sure adapting the Barstow's chassis would work as well in that particular instance as it's an entirely different structure and shape, while most of the other pieces (fenders, subframe, engine) share at least a general similarity in those 2 areas.
This is beyond cool, my dad has a 78 and I absolultley love it, one of my favorite cars. I hope this works well and you dont have too many complications with it, I always loved the GM f-bodys, I own a kunky 88 camaro myself, good luck with your mod
Update! Baselined the JBeam and started using the Barstow as a reference. Not sure if it was intentional, but most of the body panels are a near-exact fit with virtually no meddling from me. Hoping to have a stable release out soon, but the doors, T-Tops, and front nose are going to need customized beams to work properly, and there are still some mesh loading issues to sort out.
Oh shit a Fireberd. Following this! EDIT: Galaxygamer's post is why I never post on this shithole of a forum nowadays: people like you who "unironically" say stupid things.
flamechicken* infernohen? infernochicken? infernofoul? FeatheredInferno? (firey bird in largewordspeak)
woohoo! if i ever start a car company or am in charge of vehicle naming, y'all best be ready for the InfernoChicken!
If I ever publish this on the repository, InfernoFoul is definitely the rebrand I'm going with. 2nd gen camaro is planned as they share most of the same chassis parts despite somehow using entirely different sheet metal for every body part, but for now the focus is a stable release of just the Firebird. I started this thread because I currently have no intentions to de-brand the car as I feel this devalues the experience somewhat, kind of like SgtFido's Oldsmobile mod.
