Update Speculation thread

It's called simply RGBA in nVIDIA's DDS Converter (defines both compression algorithm and output format).

It's RGBA8 format in GIMP (DDS plugin installed) and it's the only format that works properly with no compression.

 

This might be only tangentially related to the subject of .dds files, but are there any plans to add an official colour map for the Randolph Dry Van soon?

From the looks of it its an old car with a rear seated engine ~30-50HP

 

Looks like a classic vw beetle

 

So, BeamNG is finally getting a beetle?

 

yea, engine looks a lot like a beetle engine

 

With the smooth rear lines, big fan shroud and no radiator, it looks very Beetle-ish.

 

Looks kind of like a VW Beetle:

 

That fan shroud screams "old VW".

 

Dayum! I would love to see an official VW Beetle-type car in game!

NOTES:
A. - Italy appears to be in the background, could mean something, could not. i assume that this vehicle will be designed to coincide with Italy like the Bus did with WCUSA
B. It seems to be based off of a beetle;


Especially where in the far right of the image you can see the taillight extending out of the fenders!


(although i suppose this would be rather obvious to the more mechanically inclined of you )

 

Perhaps an old ETK? VW and ETK are german.

Unlikely that ETK is a mass-market carmaker.

They are rather premium.

but what if it was a Civetta, to fit the Italian map? or maybe some other new Italian one-car brand (ie fiat 500)?

 

I'd rather like to see a new brand for this car.

 

Civetta is even more unlikely to make a mass-market economy car.

 

Would it be a new brand? I feel like ETK is more based off of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.

 

just found another-semi clue:


that is light shining through some sort of vent on the (trunk? hatch? rear engine cover?)

which proudly displays beetle to me as well, although the beetle did NOT have the vents as a part of the trunk, so i could be mistaken

that's why i am suggesting a new one-car Brand, like civetta

 

hopefully a new brand or something. idk if etk or civetta would fit honestly. civetta's basically the ferrari of beamng then etk is like bmw.
