for now let's all reference it as Brand-X, maybe? also a quick search on the interwebs 110% grants this car a VW engine, NOT a fiat: 60s fiat 500: 60s VW Beetle: kind of obvious to some as well, just a good clarification --- Post updated --- on another note, who is this mysterious Falkrum? (poster of the New Brand-X car) https://www.beamng.com/members/falkrum.161384/ he seems to be a Russian translator on the forums, according to 1/10th of a minute of research: he also seems to be new (joined 2016) and hasn't posted much of anything until today: not sure how he fits into the equation, just fun to look around
Interesting. But if he posted screenshots of the car, does that mean he is also a new vehicle artist like Gabester?
It is definitely a four cylinder (look at the distributor) boxer engine, but what makes all of you think you are looking at the back of the vehicle? It is possible that it is a front engined people's car.
Good point, although i think the Devs understand how much everyone loves the classic Beetle and 500 also no steering anything visible... Funny thing: when you try to save the image haha, they know us all too well!
That seems unlikely, considering the striking resemblance to a Beetle, which has a rear engine. It could be possible, who knows.
But if you look to the left of the engine, you can see what is possibly an exhaust tube leading behind the engine, which wouldn't make sense in a rear engined vehicle.
hmmm... and yet the more i look at it the more i see Fiat now... look at how wide and flat the engine bay is: not in a rounded V-shape like the beetle's:
left* (i think, unless you are looking at something else) also hows the suspension: we can clearly see a wheel well (above) and what i think is a wheel below, but no forms of suspension from what i can visibly tell
remember the Hopper? some jeep some foreign Japanese jeep combination? same thing could happen with this new vehicle!
Who says it has to be a direct rip-off of a real-life vehicle? Existing official vehicles are all over the map from "dead ringer for a real model" (200BX) to "untraceable but supposedly there real-life inspiration" (I-series) to "a few real-life ideas and cues applied to an original concept" (SBR4). This car may well draw inspiration from both the Beetle and a Fiat, under an Italian brand because an Italian map is on the way.
also: suspension or frame? fiat 500 diagram: it looks a LOT like the green arm visible here: leading me to believe that this WILL be some sort of mis-matched VW-500
