of course im going to release it and yes, the initial idea was to make a small prop based map a la Sadler Gorge containing three to four j-beamed structures. (gasstation+ carwreck, watertower, a tin shed and something i yet have to come up with) the gasstation is pretty much done despite some tweaking and the watertower (seen in the back of the video) is still a heavy wip. for the video i used ouerbackers "blackhills" map with some custom textures and vegetation, but im going to do a full custom map in a similar style for it once im done with the jbeams. but ill make a wip thread with more infos one of these days anyway. back OT: if only i could use "pointlights" instead of "spotlights" in the jbeam. they look way better. spotlights (current).............................................pointlights (placed via worldeditor) ...sigh.
Make sure the map doesn't chew performace and is small because if it chewed through performance it would be a problem for some people
surprisingly, the gasstation doesnt seem to affect my fps AT ALL. (testers reported the same) for the vid i had the station, the tower, 6 stock props (barrels, signs etc.) and three spawned D15's on blackhills with no performance issues. the small lags in the video are due to Bandicam being Bandicam lol.
I run a 6 year old alienware computer on windows 7 we don't need specs but you just need to find someone you can test with a crap box computer
I think we need bad not good I have a surface pro that runs the game poorly a alienware running it beautifully a mac that runs it a bit badly and a Home thetre PC that can't run it on lowest graphics so I think their are crappy and good Pc's out there and someone should have one --- Post updated --- To test your petrol station
I was gone for a while if anybody noticed, probably not, but ehh I started a little personal project, a 2003 Mustang GT (2003 Gavril Barstow if it becomes mod worthy) and it has came along pretty well, i would not ask if this will become mod-worthy as the bold text shows. The wheel-aliment seems to be WAY Off..
Fix the roof. It's not even flat, it even caves in: Real car: Note that the roof is slightly curved, let alone caved in. P.S.: if you don't listen to constructive criticism, you won't be a good modder.
W.I.P Command Centre. Put it in game just to see what it would look like. It's not technically Lego if it doesn't have any studs.
Used LDraw (LDView and MLCad) then ported it to blender to export as a .dae, then took it to SketchUp to edit it because I can't get used to working in blender. A really unnecessarily lengthy process, but at least it's in-game. I was going to use LDD but it just didn't have the old parts that I needed. Plus the fact that LDraw comes packaged with all the old LEGOLAND sets so I didn't actually need to build anything myself.
