Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 Eh yeah... We were at a stop light. There was a guy on the right with an empty lane between us. He had his head out the window.. and a semi truck sped between us through the red light. The guy's head was on the ground when it finished passing.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 WHY IS THIS FORUM FILLING UP WITH ALL OF THESE INJURY STORIES.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 Because injuries are amusing if they cause no permanent damage.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 I am a horrible person in that sense. I feel bad about people dying, but the destruction is amusing. For example, car crashes. People get hurt = bad; Mangled car = fun times for the eyes. Same-ish with the disgusting stuff. Say, a bad injury (Kevin Ware and the compound fracture). Person(s) get hurt = bad. Interesting factor = good-ish.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 I laughed. I'm a bad person. I wouldn't want to see a serious car crash in real life. Real cars getting mangled up before your eyes isn't amusing. This reminds me of when we were listening, in real time, to a fatal crash in which a teenage girl died. We have one of those police radio scanner thigs. They were in a sedan and got tboned by an suv on a pretty busy road. Anyway, this was pretty big news around here, and we were listening to the emts and cops and everyone responding and on scene and everything. It was an interesting, but sad thing to listen to. Clark probably remembers this being on the news and everything.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 This thread should be named BeamNG Folder's Lounge or something. Overclock.net has a thread sort of like this which serves well to help with folding if needed but also to just hang out ( as well as one can do that on a forum on the interwebs anyways). Just a thought, since it seems this is leaning more towards the latter anyways.
Re: BeamNG's Folding@Home Team #224614 It's a lounge now. Anyone else head of pokemon light platinum on the other hand.?
Isn't the GPU in your A6 better anyway? - - - Updated - - - So, today I tried the web folding app in Chrome on a school computer. I left it open and pressed switch user instead of log out so I assume it's still going since my WUs and points have gone up since I've gotten home EDIT: Just wondering, but why is it that I have 52 WUs but only about 2000 points?
I've discovered my GPU alone will do ~110k ppd. With CPU folding too (Only 4 out of 8 cores active) it can only manage 80k. :\ Wonder why.
There is of course some stuff the CPU has to do even when you're only using the GPU. But I wouldn't think it would make that large of a difference.
The CPU has to run all the background processes for the GPU cores and therefore uses a bit of overhead, but it shouldn't ever be more than one cores worth. Especially with Nvidia. AMD tend to use slightly more for whatever reason.
Anyone got any team ideas or anything? All I've got is that we only have just over a week until we get individual stats. (Also, stats backwards is still stats.)
