So, one of my father's friends is going to sell one of his cars. The price is hard to set since there is little, if any, such cars for sale.
The car in question is a 1999 Mercedes Benz E320 Avantgarde 4Matic. Color is non-metallic white, Designo leather interior in black and silver (though I might be wrong about the color). Mileage is around 60000 km, one owner, never driven in winter. No major crashes, only minor fender benders. Absolutely zero rust. Was last daily driven 3 years ago, been garaged since, only left garage for maintenance. Runs like new.
The initial price suggested by the owner is 5000€. I believe it is too low. Do any of you specialise in rare/exotic MBs? Could you suggest any other price?
Edit: car already sold for 5000€.

I reckon it should be sold at around 5,000-7,000 euros, don't think it'd sell anything over that.

I would say 10 at most, but I have a comfort zone of 5-7 like @Cheekqo™ said.

I'd say 8,500 euro, which translates to about 10,000 dollars, which is about 3-4k more than what they go for here in my part of the US since it is basically a museum piece.

    Probably 7-9K euros IMO.

I even doubt it could fetch 5000€. It's still the worst E-Class ever made and I cannot imagine there are many people in a market for that car. If anybody wants to invest they go for a W124. Driving that '99 E-Class and using it as a daily driver would make the value plummet.

    Why is it the worst?

Just the general perception. MB took a dive in quality as they moved to recyclable materials in the 1990s. Worst of all, many of their cars from that era had rust issues which were unheard of before. They're simply not that collectible as older generation cars.

Well, this car has no rust issues. A rust-free specimen of a rust-prone model is worth more than a rust-free specimen of a little-rusting model.

I don't doubt that, but I still think it would be somewhat difficult to find the right buyer because if someone is looking for a pristine example of an E-Class, there is a much higher change of them flocking towards the W124 because those are already gaining value.

Update: the Mercedes was sold today to a friend for 5000€. The new owner is a huge MB fan and already owns an S- and a G-Class. He was in need of a new car because his daily driven S-Class became too rusty. The S-Class will be repaired and then sold.
