When Italy comes out, will they also make Euro-spec versions of the cars that would have been sold in the European Market?
Wouldn't the biggest changes be added fog lights, and maybe a few other cosmetic changes? I'm sure if the devs don't make them, modders will.
It only needs new taillights and, possibly, new bumpers, so that would be easy. Maybe the devs simply don't want excess configs?
It could also have a European plate (don't know why there aren't actual EU license plates in-game) and slightly different bumpers. I'll render that soon or later... --- Post updated --- Here's my two renders of a EU-spec 200BX I did now.
Most Ibishus would make sense in EU spec. Bumpers are probably fine, but they'd also need metric gauges, rear foglight, (they could put one where the left reverse lamp is), amber blinkers in the taillights, side blinkers and maybe the removal of marker lights as well, where present. For consistency, they should skip the Miramar (JDM only, like most japanese cars of its era) and maybe the new Pessima too (most japanese manufacturers either had dropped their D-segment offerings in the '90s or had custom designs for the european markets).
Don't forget about european dashboards that use km/h instead of mph. I'm still waiting to see some dashboard options in cars like the Covet, Pessima or Sunburst. Something like the gauges in the ETK 800/ISeries where you can choose the unit and the rpm range of the tachometer (for gasoline and diesel variants) would be perfect Hope the devs are working on this
Also, the slot for the license plate would be extended since certain plates (like the EU ones) are longer than others (Japan, US, etc.) I do hope somebody would implement that idea into the 200BX, similar to my renders and the description from F2YS. --- Post updated --- Well, certain Japanese cars had different bumpers from their other counterparts. Case and point: EUDM JDM
Mostly in Eastern Europe. Camrys were never imported at all in most countries of the Western block, the UK being an exception thanks to RHD. Anyway, most japanese manufacturers were developing market-specific, locally-assembled models at the time, also to avoid import tariffs in the CEE. I'd totally expect Ibishu to do the same, expecially in a market segment where the japanese were struggling against the storied european competition.
The European Toyota Supra is one example of that scenario, where the EU-Spec Supra was against European competition similar to the Supra.
Could this Ibishu's EUDM midsize be...Miramar? Miramar is similar to Toyota Corona. One of its descendants is Avensis. The Miramar still existing as a boring European family car makes some sense. Although the JDM kids of this forum might want to lynch me for this.
When we first heard about the Italy map, I started developing my own personal EUDM conversion of the Pessima mk2. Well... The "Pessima" name is the first thing any marketing department would drop due to the negative connotation of the term in Italian, so I did this:
Release that as the 1996 miramar. Or after Italy is released release it as the Italian pessima or something.
Don't know. My little project was more or less dropped when a proper modern day Miramar (by NinetyNine!) was in development. I might continue it when I get some time.
