Went to the banger race with the Sunburst. I participated in the FWD class. Starting grid pictures a action pic taken by a friend Aftermath pictures, LeGran won, both Pessimas still ran, but driveshafts failed My Sunburst still ran good, but a driveshaft failed. I removed the engine+trans and steering wheel, rest were sent to be crushed.
You must work for NASA To afford all that (joke lol) Anyway, back to me i guess: I got a supercharger upgrade for my Barstow Hornet, went from a 1.5L to a 1.9L Supercharger, this new one will make close to 11 PSI, if not more. Making the car push out 615+ HP, the most this current engine has ever had (425 CUI V8). I hope by the end of June i will get it to 800HP, But people say the max the stock block can take in the 425 is 650 Horsepower (the 425 stock with no upgrades make 465 horsepower, they are kinda rare engines to, only 17k of them were put inside of the barstows)
Oh well I have a 663 CUI V8 that I ripped out of a totaled Barstow, let me know if you want it. I hear they can reach 900+ HP if you upgrade the pistons and crankshaft and get a decent supercharger on them.
deletd --- Post updated --- Dang, 900HP Out of an old engine like that is crazy, I'd love to take it, but i'd be fine. If i did get the engine and pushed out 900 HP, I would need to upgrade my driveshaft, springs, tranny, rear axle, tires, etc. That the street tires i have on it (when i drive it on the road) may not handle over 900 Horsepower.
Well I found a good enough car on ' Johnslist ' ( Craigslist rip off ). it's a old abandoned shop truck that would be perfect because of the sturdiness of the chassis on the D-15. I cant look in the engine bay or get inside because the owner lost the keys.
I'd trade you an engine I got! I've got a 1,000 horsepower engine (probably more) for a D-15. I want the 900 HP engine.
