The 1999 Honda Logo Made from scratch! Hello! how is everyone doing? I've decided to start work on another mod along side my Covet pack. This mod is being made from scratch with nothing but a blueprint image and google. Why? you may ask, well I wanted to make a car from scratch to improve my modeling skills (or lack of) and make a car no one would ever expect! So I give you . . . THE HONDA LOGO! THE MODEL IS CLEARLY INCOMPLETE. The model will not be 100% accurate (most mods are not but this one more so) but I plan to make the car very customizable List: Colors: Complete Incomplete In Progress Ideas (Made Last) Body: F bumper R bumper Hood Tailgate Shell (Inside parts are almost complete) L door R door L Sideskirt R Sideskirt Windows Headlights Taillights Interior engine: I4 V6 V8 suspension: Front Rear Front Off-road Rear Off-road Wheels Custom parts: Body-kit 1 Body-kit 2 Custom Hood 1 Custom Hood 2 Spoiler 1 Spoiler 2 Van Parts (Windows)
use the mirror modifier, dont mirror it using the button on the left that creates the flipped faces and also doubles
The reason for this is the models are made in a half and duplicated, flipped, and merged. the fix is easy and mandatory for the car to work, solidify. Once the part is solidified the two faced issue is fixed. the reason I haven't done this yet is cause If I do it then edit it, it can be a pain, so I wait till I finish the car. Hope that helped clear why it looks the way it does! ~ Blaze
Is there any reason you aren't just using a mirror modifier instead of doing it manually? It would speed things up an awful lot. Model is looking good so far though and from what I can see it looks like it has a nice polyflow. Nope, just a reasonably obscure honda. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Logo
personally I've had some issues with the mirror modifier in the past. I use mirror when I'm creating the model, but once I finish it I mirror it the hard but I feel right way. so in short, personal preference. Hope that helps! ~ Blaze
Thats alright and all but it would probably be a good idea to practice with it. It'll still save you alot of time and issues if you use it. The mirror modifier shouldn't have any downsides or issues if its setup correctly and will save you needing to flip normals etc when you copy one side.
