Looks like we are both wrong. Unveiled. Gone down in click but doubled cores with 24 and 32 core options
Yeah no kidding 12nm architecture, 32 cores with 64 Threads and 250W from stock, I guess you need a minimum of a 1600W PSU to run it when it comes to an OC it, I would guess at least 500W+ with the OC on it I really dont like the power consumption numbers though, even my processor which is 3 years old is 140W TDP but having something that draws the same power as an Nvidia Graphics card under load, I know some Nvidia card run about 250W under load, is crazy, AMD really need to sort out the entire thing with the TDP numbers....it shows an inefficiency of the design....
Well, on the bright side, you can load BeamNG, Chrome, Photoshop and some other apps simultaneously with it's 32-core power.
yeah I guess so if I guess each core would be like 7.8125W per core compared to my own at something like 17.5W per core if it was at 100% load and it was drawing 140W TDP, just did the TDP/Cores to get the W/core figure there, so yeah it is really efficient, as I was said "Always do the maths!" and I hope that new Threadripper 2 is that efficient, but you have to remember my processor is 3 years old or coming up on it and its an older design and you have to account for that as well, I use my processor because its the one I know about and use, makes it easy for me to do
My audio dev PC is based around a i7 5960x clocked at 4.3ghz, whilst my gaming/net/everything else PC is a 2600k @ 4.5ghz.
i7-7700K @ 4.8GHz with a Kraken X41. Also a E8400@3.3GHz on stock cooler, C2D E6300@2.6GHz on stock cooler, Cel 430@2.4GHz on stock cooler, Pentium G840@2.9/3.0 on stock cooler. I like squeezing out a bit more performance
