I have dry rotten jeep tires on the front and old studded snow shows out back. I need tires as well.

does it eventually become exempt?, in CT if your car is over 25, you can do literally anything to it

Wouldn't you think of environment? The cat is there for a reason.

at least it's just a CAT and not a bunch of other emission junk on it.

A decent aftermarket cat has very very little restriction anyway. But clearly the best cats are the cuddly ones.

But yeah more seriously. A good catalytic converter really doesn't have to be a bad thing for the car. The best ones are just as clean (sometimes cleaner) than stock and yet have zero measurable restriction.

I fueled her up this morning, with premium (91 octane US rating). I've been having a little too much fun with her and managed to only get 19.125mpg since my last fuel-up :D

Update on the rust repair if anyone cares lmao:

Driver side: The challenge for this side was how the rust creeped to underneath the tail light and rotted all the metal which I had welded in.

Passenger side: This side was way harder the the driver side. There was rotted metal and rust at the seal of the inner and outer lips, both of which I had to fab up. On top of that the previous owner, for some reason, applied a fairly thick layer of bondo on the entire rear quarter panel, making my life hell trying to smooth it out after welding.

Overall pretty happy how I got it to look now. First time doing fab work like this, as well as mixing bondo. The hard part is trying to paint match it so it doesn't stick out.

at least you are dealing with pretty little rust unlike my truck.....
the rust is on both sides. rocker panels on the cab are also rotten. the miscoloration the bottom rear of the bed is bondo, on chicken wire, attached to the truck. there is bondo all over that truck, covering rust spots. the entire bottom of the truck is covered in surface rust (As far as I know)

your truck is pretty clean compared to most trucks in CT, the ONLY reason my bronco has as little rust as it does is because it was never a plow truck. Sheet-metal on the F series trucks is easy and fairly cheap if you have a welder, patches for the spots you have would total under $500(new fenders, bed sides, and rockers). Cover the bottom in POR15 or equivalent to eliminate undercarriage rust.

    Hey, what's up y'all?

I didn't do it today, but whatever.

I bought a 2006 Toyota Prius for $800 because it had a bad axle and wheel bearing. It's also a little beat up. The engine and trans are flawless as far as I can tell including the hybrid battery. I replaced both front axles and the wheel bearing in my parents' garage.

At the same time I also changed the oil filter, oil, and trans fluid. It should be good for a long time. It has 208k miles on it right now.

Yea you're gonna have a lot of fun fixing that if you do it yourself. It is pretty clean tho for the trucks ive seen that are about the same age.
