By this post I guess you won't come far. Maybe try skins first as they're easy to do.

So you want to make A mod which probably depends on jbeams yet your exporter doesn't work? Where's the logic in this? o_O

There is nothing wrong with the Jbeam exporter, it is just not exporting ready made file for you, it exports just nodes and their locations, which you must place to jbeam file which you have created, you need to create parameters and definitions, also it will not make beam structure from the visual model, you need to make beam structure in blender with beams and nodes, as well as triangles, which you can export and then copy paste to your jbeam file.

It is usually more of issue with expectations, where new aspiring modder excepts exporter to create finished product, but it is just a tool to help with one step of the process, writing node coordinates, beams and triangles, that is only thing it does, it makes writing those bit easier, but you still need to make jbeam file manually.

In practice, you need to be able to do jbeam fully with Notepad++ to be able to use exporter, because you need to understand what and why of nodes and beams as well as file structure.

So do something which needs a jbeam and which you can do with Notepad++, with experience you gain with that, you can use exporter more efficiently to help you to build more and faster.

Well, if you are not up for a challenge ;)

BeamNG is bit challenging beast as it takes lot more to learn than other games, additional layer of beams which there are no shortcuts to 'get' and make work is something that makes creating a mod for BeamNG really lot of work compared to something like mod for Skyrim.

With making maps, you don't need to worry about jbeams though, you can add buildings and stuff to maps without need to dwell into world of nodes and beams and perhaps that is where you can find similar work as what you can make for Skyrim.

I was kind of thinking of challenging myself once I do mod .
Also, there is a tutorial that uses height maps, so map-modding can be made much easier.
