This 1929 Gavril Semi truck reminds me of this 1927 Auriga Heron. Which is outdated and doesn't work. It was created by Miura on December 24, 2015. It was updated to Version 0.91 on February 12, 2016. This was the only update for this car. R.I.P. Miura and his Auriga Heron 1927. ;(

I also hope and expect this to become a featured resource because of how cool it is.

Are you going to give it it's own sound? For me, the sound of a vehicle is what makes it unique and it just having a boring beamng default sound wont make it enjoyable.

Oh, I'll just wait until the alpha then. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know he would do that.

Look, I know you want it so badly, but there's nothing I can do. Driv3r1142 is working on it and it'll take him a while so please be patient. But he will add the following:

    1. The Black stuff Inside the hood all around

    2. The Radiator (already finished)

    3. Textures for the engine and fixed textures for the dump bed upfit

    4. Front and rear bumpers with license plates

    5. A Gavril Logo (probably never going to happen since there's no plain flat part on the grille to put the old Gavril logo onto.)

    6. And its own engine sounds (I think, but adding more upfits like a flatbed and a fifth wheel upfit may or may not ever happen. I don't know. It may or may not have the T-Series engine sounds since its a semi.)

After all of this, the mod will be released as an alpha, then you can get this mod.

Plus, the mod looks like it was made in 1918 which is really cool.

I'll send him and a couple other users i know a message then so we can get something working when I have the engines made.

Meh maybe, we'll see what I decide to do.

That would simply be a period correct modification or factory variant if I do make one, since these old trucks had all sorts of crazy lengths sometimes, not an eight wheeler; I would need an extra axle, something I'd rather not add :p

The Heron went out of date simply because it relied and heavily used LUA code to make it more "realistic". It went fairly quickly for a mod, however if you go in and remove "The broken stuff", it works fine.

This mod is much more independent, and unless the devs drastically change things in the JBeam side of things, it should be around awhile. It already survived the 0.11 to 0.12 version jump, and my Gavril Vendetta mod has survived the jump from 0.10 to 0.11 to 0.12, and more than likely both will survive the jump to the next BeamNG version just fine.

Also, no I won't be releasing this in a week. Are you nuts? I'm still breaking the suspension (on purpose,) trying to get it to work better, making new parts, etc.

I don't have a release date in mind yet, and as I stated in the OP, I won't be giving any.

I'm already going to be looking into the custom sounds option. I've tried getting official sounds to work, and none of them really fit this vehicle.

Please refrain from speaking on my behalf. I'm quite capable of responding to questions and comments.

For one, while your list is somewhat correct, there will not be any sort of Alpha, Beta, etc. release. Any release made of this mod onto either the forums or the mods page will be its final version.

Also, Most trucks from the late 1910s to the end of the 1920s and early 1930s, all were fairly similar in design and appearance, hence why this looks like its an older vehicle than it is.

However this is a closed cab truck, while many trucks from and after WW1 weren't. This also uses more modern steel wheels, while trucks from and after WW1 used other wheels, like ones made of wood.

Sorry, I was excited and I think that the rear tire looks a bit too much like a tank wheel. Try making it look more spoked like the wheel of that era. Not the aluminum wheel that are in the picture.

it looks about fine i think, if you look at cars from that period, they all sorta had bicycle looking wheels and tires

I didn't mean the thickness as in width, I meant it as the difference in size between the rim and tire

Here's an image of a 1920s Chevrolet Truck. The rims are thicker than the tires. But this truck is like from 1922 or 1923.

That's normal with automobiles from the late 1800s to early 1900s (as in centuries)

I assume it's a really old predecessor to the D-Series, judging from the name.

Will this have a crashbox? usually 1920's trucks and even some cars from early 50's had crashboxes.

I'm intrigued, mind explaining that for me? I'm currently reworking alot of the JBeam of this truck and addressing some things with the model, if it's something important or period correct I could get that put in place.

A crashbox is another way of saying a non synchromesh tranny, sorry for saying crashbox, that did cause some confusion. Just incase you don't know about non syncro crashboxes, they have no syncromesh on them so you have to double clutch, which matches the speed of the engine and the gearbox so you can shift in without grinding.
