Update Speculation thread

This is somewhat concerning. I watched YBR's recent video featuring his crossover SUV he made in Automation in BeamNG, and the new official AB car is nowhere in sight in the vehicle selector.


I hope it's because they only provided the BeamNG exporter and the Automation track map, and not the full update.

 

I think he only got the early release of the Automation exporter, but not the full update, I think.

 

they provided the entire update, as in ybr's video, neil's video, and a bunch of other small youtubers vids, career mode was unlocked, and not to bring up the sounds for the different terrain.

so no AB car as of now.

 

Easy reason:
AB vehicle is Beam-exclusive, which means it isn't related to Automation-BeamNG, but it is only related to BeamNG.

That's early access of the update, considering the devs already said the update will completely release on the 13th. If it was the full update, those videos would've been released on the 13th or later.

 

sorry i'm a little "out of the loop"
two questions;
1) so is the career mode not coming in the update?
and 2
2) what is the "AB car"?

 

None of us normal members can say if it's early access or not- it most likley is, but you never know.

New theory: what if the sounds on the dirt and terrains only apply to the automaton test track?

Career mode is coming in the next update, 90% sure of it.

the AB Car is a vw bettle like car, other people can help you out on what the car is

 

And the features of the new vehicles?

Why would they do that to us? I don't think they'd do that. For things like that crawling bug thing, I can understand, but for the AB car, I doubt they'd do that.

Hopefully it's just what Nathan and I said, that they only provided the Youtubers with the highlights of the new update, and are saving everything else for the 13th.

 

Of course the AB is only for BeamNG, plus, there will only be a exporter from Automation to BeamNG, not the other way around.

 

I hope they save everything for the 13th, but my theory is no AB Car will come and it will be as advertised in the youtube videos, I'm 90% sure of it, but there's that 10% and me, and I'm not the best guesser out there

It's pretty complete (even from the close-ups, it's obviously had a lot of progress on it), so I'm pretty sure it will come with the July 13th update.

 

I'm for sure that the AB Car is not coming. Just as it is in the youtube videos.

I mean we got a day until the update so its not too much longer

 

Beamng probably left some stuff out of the build they gave youtubers so it could be a surprise.

 

It's a new upcoming car, believed to possibly be modeled after a Volkswagen Beetle/Type 1.

Only two known screenshots of it currently exist ATM, but its identity remains implicit. The "AB" name comes from the screenshot showing the badge.

 

Then why would they even show it before the update comes? The Wentward did exactly that, and it ended up in the update, so this means it would be the same situation.

 

I would also be pretty disappointed if the AB wasn't released this friday, considering that, aside from the bus and a few scenarios there hasn't been a ton of new content lately...

 

While I'd be disappointed to not have the AB car, because new cars are always awesome to get, at least there's the Automation exporter and track map, and some of the new vehicle features, like finally getting UV maps for the ETK K-Series and Gavril T-Series, something that's been neglected for such a long time. Also can't forget the Burnside taxi.

 

Here is something I would like to know about the cars. The Wentward and AB don't have threads and I would like to know when these concepts happend. Was the Wentward brought up by a dev just randomly saying,"Hey I wanna add a bus", and they say this during the time around 0.10's release or something? Was the AB intended from the start? I want to know this.

 

The bus was apparently planned from the start but never got a thread. The AB doesn't appear to be planned from the start but they may be just keeping secrets from us.
For all we know they could have 10 more vehicles in development right now.
