The Rally-Gravel variant can overheat its turbo without going over 100*c in coolant. oil temps seem fine, Exhaust gets a bit hot (around 400).

Nice necro. The turbo isn't dumped in coolant tho. Its another separate part that can overheat in its own.

Actually the turbo, as we simulate it, is a coolant cooled turbo. Coolant Temps therefore play into the whole overheating thing of turbos.

So every turbo has liquid cooling instead of pure oil cooling?

In the game? Yes. Keep in mind that the turbo thermals are very basic, so I wouldn't really call it "liquid cooling". But yes, the coolant temp plays a role in determining if the turbo is overheating.

no offense to all you bimmer fans out there, but due to the absurdly cheap looking, huge plastic bumpers, and all the disgusting looking rubber trim, all i see is a 80s/90s volvo. not that this car is bad or nuthin, just gr8 attention to detail gabester!!!

Big plastic bumpers? Black rubber trim everywhere? You mean, like, the BMW 5-series of approximately the same era as the 2400i?

Plus, I'd like to add that an 80s-90s volvo is anything other than cheap. They were built with incredibly high quality standards and that's why so many of those cars still run flawlessly today. Plastic =/= cheap quality.

    Woooooah, no freaking way dude

But in all seriousness, sooo many cars looked like that in the era that it all resembles slightly a boxed volvo

Keep in mind that every decade has a distinct look that defined car design of those respective eras.
The boxy look was pretty much "Mainstream" during 1980's car design, and I'm not gonna attempt to compare the ETK I-series to any specific real-life cars (It's a tiring subject that can go on forever), since it's an original car that has taken design cues from a few different vehicles, including bmw.

I don't mean that those volvos are actually bad. Heck, we have two of 'em, one from about the era you mentioned, and they both run great. When I mentioned the cheap plastic, I was reffering to the blue or black plastic trim that most volvos from that era came from. I personally don't mind it all that much, but it fades quickly and looks offensive to many. Therefore, I meant that they looked cheaply made, due to the quantity of plastic panels on the exterior. Now, if there is ONE component that was low quality on those volvos, it would have to be the onboard computer. We had to replace ours 7 times last year alone (RIP my wallet).

Yeah true, but the things here in sweden...The 240 and the 740 are bound to rust and it is actually sort of hard to find one without rust nowadays. But to be fair the things run quite long without breaking

Do you know if in the future the thermals will be more detailed?

@Diamondback There is currently no way to see turbo temp in game. Closest i could see are EGT, Oil and Coolant temps, all seemed fine however the turbo would overheat.

Any plans to change the cooling on the base variant or add in a temperature for it on the engine diagnostics so i can keep track of it?

I've always thought that it is weird for such car to not have an airbag option. Maybe it comes with a passive safety system like procon-ten, so airbags were viewed as excess? That's exactly what Audi did back then.

I believe that the steering wheel has an airbag standard. I recall zooming in on the wheel, and it had an airbag badge and SRS printed on it.

It doesn't, and it's far too small to fit an airbag (airbag steering wheels were huge back then).

Steering wheel looks like in BMW which not had airbag in 80s. Even some BMW M7 from 1990 don't have them. However there are "cuts" in game that looks like steering wheels have them. There is even small bulge.
