First attempt at skinning Note that I just copied parts from a mod from GTA Vice City. Some bits don't quite line up, but I'm satisfied for now. Eventually I'll make some parts and configs, for both the Hornet AT and MT.
I should change uv resolution?ok i will do it --- Post updated --- Also this is my model from rr3 (interior mesh, ext mesh, fully edited mesh)
Progress! And yet still so much terrain work to do. I haven't even started on the vegetation! I'm aiming for a late August release (beta).
on my map i cant get the terrain files to work whatsoever. I ported over the terrain files, vegetation, and all of the files the map created in documents/BeamNG.drive/levels but the terrain just wont show up. If i PM it to you (and the level files) Do you think you could fix it? OT:
Another day, another Blundering good time making models. Today, another building greets the map. This took hours as I had to custom-make some graphics for the INTERIOR of it, yes interior. This store doesn't have a name yet, so the sign will be added later. But wait, before we walk away, or just drive/crash on past, let's have a look inside won't we? Yes, Interiors! Because they're fun, and the only show if you're in front of the building or right next-door to the lot (anything past the intersection and it won't render the inside, the detail levels fall back). Don't worry, they're simple interiors, only another 16 surfaces or so for rendering the interior. The difference between this level of detail with the interior, and the next one down is about 20 surface. That level of detail is about 12 surfaces total. Buildings are decidedly simple, as they should be. Not ugly simple, but functionally 100% while being not too much to render, as this game has a hard enough time rendering full cities so as it is. It'll have a sign and the store name on the building, and it'll also have a large post and sign out front on the corner later, when I give it a name. For now, this is good enough. It did take many hours to model this building, though (textures included in that time which were a good hour +). --Hope y'all like it. EDIT: got it all fixed up nice and finished off the lot So that's what it'll look like when the map is out (well, there will be buildings all around it, too!).
Oh no, not again. You can now get a bite to eat, here in "no-name-yet-ville", or even use the drive-through, if you're in that much of a hurry to fly off the nearest cliff (of which, they're very numerous). No, actually, I built a fast food restaurant - this will be a Burger World soon (signs aren't done yet, waiting on those so I can do a few right away in a row, for consistency's sake failing anything else). It's all those little details that make all the difference. Better menu shot below if you actually want to read it (you should, heh heh). This menu was featured in my Roane County Tennessee USA map mod, and will be back & better than ever with a completely new building and parking-lot. The intersection out front of the fast food joint also got finished up, with necessary traffic signals and lane markings. The small lot under the bridge (the old default spawn point) will be a parking area or bus lot, not sure yet, but it's not even touched yet. This will be a fully realistic, immersive map, and as usual with my maps, might need to shut those reflections off, but none-the-less you'll have a great time with it. Thus far on things I've done I've been hitting almost or around GTAV quality stuff, which is about what I am aiming for. I actually made a total of 3 fast fast restaurant buildings (2 of them are different color schemes from the first), but only the Burger World one is shown. All of the awesome Roane County Tennessee USA businesses will be back better than ever. So now for a break to figure out why my super-annoying and now in-heat kitten eats CHEEZ-IT's ... The dogs won't eat them, but the cat happily munched one up that dropped to the floor. Also, lest I forget, put in a new strip-mall last night before I closed down for the evening, it's not quite done yet, but the tunnel in the picture is also new. Slow but steady wins the race. It shouldn't be slow working on this 8~12 hours a day, but it is. I want this to be awesome - not just for me - but for everyone. The modular road kit of over 400 pieces will enable anyone to build a city of their dreams, offering almost limitless combinations, with the exception of odd-angled intersections, which aren't in yet (but will be!). Thought I'd add this last one while I was testing - Imagine a city of several square miles of this! Obviously it's work-in-progress, but slowly-but-surely it's getting there. --Cheers!
