Russian Mesh Hijackers Finally exposed!

Ok, so after about 2 weeks of research, i finally got this:

So, here are the facts:
They get payed to post cars there,
The cars they make dont have functioning lights, but if they do (1 in a 100) they have forgotten to rename it to a different car, stands out like Gavril Grand Marshal
Nearly all cars are based on the Fullsize sedan (gavril grand marshal) Model, including most of the sports cars
They all make their models in a program called Modzona.ru, which is what the website's official editor is.
They have a lot, A LOT of fake models. All of them are with stolen meshes, but despite that they somehow handle well.
So, Now what then.

There is nothing we can do about this. We already knew this anyways.

 

Indeed but the model on the official forum are much better then those crap mods from russian sites

 

Enough posts and threads about this already! We all know! I bet this thread will be deleted like all the others pretty soon, we don't like those links on these forums. Good job doing research, but next time you could just read some posts on here.

Ugh, this could be a bigger problem or problem solver once BeamNG Drive goes on Steam. Of course if it will have a workshop ( I really hope it will). Though there will be 2 scenarios:

1) Nobody downloads from their site since workshop is where everything happens.
2) They upload their stolen models to workshop claiming that they are theirs.

In case #2 happens, please spam the comments saying it`s fake. It will be easier to tell for those who will be getting into this game when it goes Steam. Also is there a way of reporting users in the workshop that the content is stolen? That might clear up some stuff.

 

Not really exposed, I've known the guy that runs that site for months now.

I kindly asked him to remove the pirated versions of BeamNG.drive the site was hosting, and he was okay with it, the download now links to the Steam Greenlight page, which was genuine of him. The main reason they were pirating was because of their corrupt country making wire transfers difficult, they promised to buy it once it's available on Steam. (We'll see).

I told him it was okay to upload my models if he credits me and includes my videos to go with it, you can't get the mods removed, so I might as well get as much as I can out of it right?
So aside from uploading forum content, they're not doing merely as much harm as they were when they hosted the download links for the alpha versions.

Their crappy mods and illegal meshes is their problem, not ours, and we should be glad they're not on this forum.

 

Well, some of their vehicles were good, like the hydraulic suspension Range Rover Sport or high quality Dodge Challenger.

 

how would you know? you don't even own the game, so you can't use vehicles other than the d15

Let's not jump to conclusions, could always be some video on YT. I personally feel this community is a little too eager to start witch hunts, and I'm glad Drowsy was able to open a diplomatic channel with the Russian site.

 

I'm not jumping at him or anything. I'm just making sure the post doesn't go anywhere. Just incase someone needs to do some further investigating.

 

Good idea. I always take pictures of the strangest and worst posts that I see, so I have them for future reference. Here are a few incredibly odd ones that were deleted within the first five minutes

Ok ok. I am usually not a grammar nazi, but I see this everywhere it's starting to eat at me. You don't put and apostrophe (') at the end of every plural word. They are just for contractions (it's, didn't, I'm), and showing ownership of something (john's car, jill's vibrator). A few examples:
All of the birds are getting annoying. (plural)
John's car broke down. (ownership)
We were about to get down, but then jill's vibrator ran out of battery. (ownership)
I didn't break the bike. (contraction)
Anyway, I hope you people get the point.
