We also barely have much of the US covered. You still have the other Southern states, the Midwestern area, and the Rockies.
Wasn't there already a map based off the Grand Canyon?

What I'd want to see, is the devs updating ingame Utah with more offroad trails etc. The real one has probably the biggest amount of offroad related routes, like for example MOAB

Not update speculation but there's no general discussion thread and it's not worth making a thread for, but is anyone else experiencing problems with the BeamNG.com mobile site? It doesn't let me use any menus, I have to press the request desktop version to do anything. I've tried using a different browser, restarting my phone, etc. I can get a pic if needed.

Come to think of it, I'd like to see something like the ECUSA/Hirochi Raceway dynamic going on with Utah. If we could get a second map focused solely on trails by reusing the assets from Utah, I think it would make for a valuable addition to the game with a minimal turnaround time.

One of the worst things about becoming a developer (not to complain; it's a great opportunity) is that I always feel deterred from contributing to forum conversations like this one, out of concern that somebody will take my opinions as concrete views shared by the whole development team. Or worse, combing my post for stuff to speculate on, generating arguments or bitter post-update disappointment. But hey, worth the risk :p

There are two big schools of thought on this kind of thing: specialization (do one thing completely and throughout) and diversification (do many things in equal measure). Adding more North American levels would exemplify the former, and focusing on other regions would serve the latter. And I can't say I really disagree with either. I'd say we should prioritize making levels representing other regions (Japan for sure, perhaps landlocked stretches of continental Europe, like France or Germany, and Australia has my vote as well). But if we assume we'll get another four or five levels out of Beam, it would be nice to eventually fill in the broad spatial gap between ECU and Utah.

In my opinion they should work on what is needed most important to what the majority of the community wants. :3
Addition: Overall performance improvements and bug fixes :3

IMO, as long as you make it clear that what you say may not be shared by the entire crew, and shouldn't be noted for stuff like speculation, I think you'll be just fine. ;)

And yeah, I like the areas you mentioned. All of them could add something to the game, and I'm with you all the way for Australia especially. If an Australian map was to be more focused on its Outback regions, it would be perfect for stuff like offroading, and Mad Max stuff if you're a big fan of the series. And one thing for sure, I'm thinking an Australian map would be a great reason to finally have RHD officially available for all of the cars, rather than modded in as some users has done in the past.

If I was in a position like yours, I'd really try to push ideas like this to the rest of the developers, citing how in some shape or form maps like one based on the Australian Outback can complement the idea the game is going for, and add something to the game that may be missing, and for me personally, what I think the community would welcome openly.

I think that with limited map size available, it would be best to build maps from areas of less vast open spaces, compared to areas like Texas etc that has vast open spaces.

So answer to which map should be made, will be Sweden. There is plenty of forests, so you can fit roads quite close to each other without them feeling being close to each other, adding value of exploration, there are kind of mountainous areas at north, coastal areas at the south and some not too large cities that might be useful for limited town like center of settlement.

Many roads being narrow and somewhat twisty, it provides interesting driving experience.

And girls... Oh yes, this was about maps :D

There could also be snow, realistic snow, not flat like we have seen so far, but deep kind you get stuck into, hugely different 4 seasons, which could make it possible to craft 4 maps instead of just one, with bit less effort than having a 4 maps made from scratch.

Driving is whole lot different between summer and winter, also during spring when there are no leaves on trees, there are places where you can see corners much further ahead, then at autumn things get very wet and hard to see because of dark + wet, which is like driving BeamNG at night currently has, road eats light like a black hole.

So I think most optimal location to build map would be something located in Sweden, it could provide much more driving fun than Utah for example, which feels kinda small compared to ECA even it probably is even bigger?

You're saying Sweden for the driving fun & experience, but I say... FINLAND! It has a lot of forests too, and the best of the best: A LOT of dirt/gravel roads with some hops & they're narrow, so when you don't correct your car, you will end up in a tree :p Would be quite cool seeing a map in BeamNG that has only dirt/gravel roads available & no tarmac

and then you see a rusty pile of junk going about 125mph while the driver keeps cursing in finnish......
that would make BeamNG the second game I know of that would have something about Finland that ain't rally.

Well, if other areas outside US are going to be added, then any of Scandinavia would make quite different impression from typical areas seen in games, Finland is bit more flat with bit more lakes, Sweden has quite well different kinds of areas that are available in Scandinavia and there is already MSC :D

Small Island of course is bit like such smaller roads in Scandinavia, but only bit. Problem is of course that 2km by 2km or 4km by 4km can be quite empty in Scandinavia, so it would have to be some kind of fictional area to capture theme of the area.

Rallying would be lots of fun, fastest gravel stages are in Finland of course, but also road design near build areas is kinda well suited for some drifting attempts that will end up into streetlamp post :D
