The latest version is Beta 0.6.1. Download can be found in the attachments! Changes in 0.6.1: JBeam: Brake pad slots added Race brakes added with customisable torque and bias settings Standard brake bias moved forward (80/20 configuration) Differential changed from locked to open (no idea why it was locked previously, but at least there's less understeer and more oversteer) Roadmap for near future: To add to next version(s): Rally parts To fix for next version(s): Shaking/wobbling under heavy braking/acceleration Mostly fixed Add nodes to door jbeams for improved fidelity Clutch needs improving (need help with this as I don't have pedals to test this on) Rear skidplates not working properly for some reason Credits: Thanks to @Alex_Farmer557 for adding license plates, car horn, and a tow hitch (and helping with fixing the cameras) Thanks to @Capkirk for helping with FFB settings Thanks to BeamNG devs for providing much needed inspiration for the jbeam of this car Disclaimer: This is a beta and is obviously unfinished. There are plenty of improvements to be made, particularly in the suspension, handling and overall solidity of the vehicle jbeam. As I'm not really experienced with getting things to behave properly, I could do with any advice if offered. FAQs (read this): Q: Will there be a Left Hand Drive variant? A: There will also be multiple configurations in future such as LHD, but features like this won't be considered until closer to release when I'm happy with the handling and feel of the car. Q: Will you do the T16? A: Unlikely. There are are a lot of differences between the 205 gti and the T16, many of which would require extensive remodelling and/or jbeam work. It would almost be like remaking the car entirely. Thanks and enjoy!
very nice, dude! great work! I have a peugeot 205 GTI with four doors in my garage, and I know every piece of this car. and I'm surprised about your model, you made it perfect, nice shapes, continue like that!
Im starting to miss my old 205 1.9gti... Pls dont stop making this car Are you making other models like dimma?
Maybe, just maybe! Sorry about the lack of updates recently, everyone. I haven't and won't abandon this; I've had physics coursework and it's been a bit hectic trying to get it done!
This is awesome! If you want to build a Peugeot 309, i can take thousands of pictures if you like ;-)
Okay so I thought I would give putting the frame in game a go. Here's what I managed to do: Bear in mind that this is an extremely crude version and I'm planning to make the structure resemble the car somewhat better. This post is really just to show that I haven't abandoned this.
I hope to release an early version at some point, perhaps once I complete a basic version of the model and JBeam. From there it's basically adding detail and making the driving realistic.
Can i suggest sing the "smooth" modifier in 3DS max, or the "edge split" modifier if your using blender. It will make the model look a lot nicer both ingame and in your modelling software. Should also remove the strange shading your getting in your view port screenshots of the model
Yeah I already have the smooth modifier enabled so it's probably just a mesh error. Looking at my screenshots I've also noticed a lot of wonky edges (particularly across the wind shield area of the roof). I'll make sure those are sorted out before I do anything else. After a couple of hours messing around I managed to get it to deform somewhat, albeit with less than satisfying results: I'm not really sure what causes this to happen. Is my JBeam too low res?
Soz for double post. Some progress on the frame has been made. Specifically, I modelled the boot jamb and edited the engine bay: Looks a bit better IMO. I would've preferred to have done more today, but I tend to take a while with these things.
