Makes sense. Even the Megalodon in the movie I mentioned probably couldn't swallow both of them together in one whole crunch (likely due to the length of the dry van).

    That's a good question.

I found this article while doing some research on the size of the Megalodon jaw.
    https://www.livescience.com/14255-shark-jaws-worlds-largest-auction.html

    And the Wikipedia page.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalodon#Size

I mean these jaws can get pretty big. Big enough to swallow a human whole.

But one thing you might want to factor in, is if the Megalodon in the film is mutated or just above their average size?

    I'd say above average size.

But since it seems you haven't seen the movie, I'll list the trailer below so the factor can be identified easier:

I haven't seen the movie, but I did watch a trailer some time ago. Probably one of the first trailers to come out.

But yeah, if the one in the movie can swallow an entire 18 wheeler, it's got to be above the average size.

As for real ones, I'm not too sure. I read that around 75 ft is the biggest estimated length of a Megalodon. And I've seen sources stating that semis with trailers can reach around that length, so that shark would have to make a lot of room, and it'd probably keep them fed for who knows how long.

My question then would be is whether or not it could survive? The shark would probably die afterwards, especially after ingesting the diesel, oil, and all of the other fluids found in the truck's engine.

Biggest megalodon assumed to have ever lived: 20 m
    European semi trailer: 16 m
    US semi trailer: 21 m
    The answer is no.

Here's another Megalodon vs. Car question:
Which car (or type of car) do you think would affect the Megalodon the least and the most?

Yeah, that would be a very tight fit.

Least: Probably something that doesn't have toxic items and fluids in it. Good luck finding a car like that.

Most: Just about every car on the road today.

I was thinking the least would be the smallest car as of today (Peel P50) and the most would be a semi (any kind of semi).

A tanker trailer with poisonous chemicals. Or a Ford Nucleon.

Yeah, the Peel would probably be small enough to fit inside, but I'm guessing that the shark would die because of the gasoline. Not to mention would the shark be capable of digesting it?

Another car I'd say would probably fit inside the Megalodon would have to be the Dacia Lastun.

The shark would die slower if it were to ever eat a P50 (due to it's size).

It could also theoretically digest a BMW Isetta.

Part two of my "cool roads from Holiday" "series" xD
    IMG_20180813_110833.jpg

    Pretty sick bit of asphalt...

I hope posting interesting roads is on topic enough for this thread, it is car related enough to not be a personal blog post, but is also not directly automotive.

So I think I managed to blow up a diesel engine today, but I'm not quite sure.

Driving back from some work in middle Kentucky, one of our company vans (a Mercedes Sprinter), decided it'd start losing power then eventually cut out on a road with a traffic flow of about 85MPH. Let it set for a minute, restarted it, and now it runs absolutely horrible and has no power whatsoever. No smoke from the exhaust, so it's beyond me.

I think I finished the dying transmission off, too. It was shifting extremely hard into 2nd and then slipping 3rd. I guess it'll be Mercedes Sprinting into the shop.

    TL;DR: Cunt's fucked

Is a Ford Transit any better that the "Sprinted-to-hell" Merc?

If you have happened to drive a Transit before, that is.

I was hoping that the lowly Mitsubishi Mirage would be among the last new cars to still have a mechanical throttle, but much to my disappointment it isn't. I popped the hood expecting to be able to rev the little 3 cylinder with the throttle linkage but found a puny little electronic throttle body. Laaaaaame.
Seeing as the mirage is the cheapest new car sold in the US I think it's safe to say that not a single new car sold in the us has mechanical throttle.
And I sure hope to god the Sprinter is better than the Transit. The transit is absolute garbage.

This one word basically describes every other new Mitsubishi.

Also, fuck the Focus. The new one looks butt-ugly, and the 1st gen that my parents used to own was pretty crap (and we got rid of it, thank god).

I have no experience with Transits, but I can guarantee that even as shit as they might be, they're better than a Mercedes Sprinter.

In other news, my car has an electrical problem. With my headlights on, the right turn signal doesn't work, then works with my lights off. Can't be bothered to diagnose it.

The E-Series is probably better than both IMO.
