You could try this: Go to the mod management and select the derby mod. There's a button that says Unpack, choose that and reboot the game.
What options did you pick in the menu? Also can I get a copy of your beamng.log file when you have the problem?
found a bug, during a derby cars just randomly die during the derby and when i switch any car to stock or moded the derby freezes and stops working
thanks for the suggestion but it still doesnt work. the menu options i picked were 4 cars, full size cars, all mods (f150 and peters derby mods) and i click the burnside or moonhawk and pro class on concrete derby track and click start and it will keep the background and the menu will go away and the countdown will start with no other cars.
Love the mod but now my Ai is disabled after go and my motor becomes disable leaving me with fetal vehicle exception. Ive tried a fresh install, safemode, clearing cache and nothing as worked
I cant tell if its the derby/banger pack or fair grounds and i seen that the welding mod for the doors, hood and ect wont stay shut now.
If you could post a video or a thread on how you programmed the AI to do as they do in derbies, (switch which AI car they hit rather than target a single car the whole time) many people would appreciate that. I've talked to several people about it and they would like to learn as well.
the on bug i am having is every time i have a derby like 1 or 2 and sometimes 3 of the ai car stop randomly and go into park and cant move and get timed out a little bit after the derby starts
a bug i have found is during a derby my car will just start randomly overheating with no front end damage
Of course it does it, especially with older cars. You are not driving forwards all the time to cool the engine, which is why the engine gets hotter. And the engines does not have cooling fans on the radiators yet to cool it down in such conditions when it starts to overheat. And this has nothing to do with us, it's in the main game as well.
i know i already said this but is they anything you can do to slow down the overheating so when we are driving backwards the takes a bit longer because like 40 seconds after the derby starts and i start using the backend and not overeving the car starts overheating
so when the derby starts you want to use the back end to protect the engine but you said that car overheats normaly when driving backwards, it just happins way to quick cant really have a derby when your oveheating after 40 seconds
most big cars ill do some test of another cars later --- Post updated --- be cool if you could make new arenas like 1 that is long but narrow and some other new ones
Are the radiators leaking when the motor shuts off? The vehicle will still overheat but should not lock up the motor unless you damaged the radiator.
In real life, if you rev a motor a lot or put it under a lot of stress and you don't get enough speed to get good air flow through the radiator, it overheats. BeamNG simulates this as well. You need wind flow through the radiator, some revs to keep the water pump flowing, but not too many revs or you'll get it hot. The coolant temp rises along with the oil temp which is heating up over the length of the derby as you rev the engine more and more. Even with a high performance radiator, you can ruin a motor if you get the oil hot, though it'll last longer normally. With older vehicles came older versions of cooling systems that may not be as effective/efficient as today's cooling systems. So cars like the barstow and the burnside will notice overheat in a scenario like this much more quickly with very little wind speed. The Moonhawk is a little better for 2 reasons. It uses a lower compression engine than those older v8s due to it being made during the "smog-control era", and it's just new enough to have a slightly better radiator/cooling system. The Marshall is lucky enough to be in the newer age of vehicles, but even that with a stock radiator is prone to overheat with long enough abuse.
