My dad works for nokia supplying the hardware for phone antenna (not nokia phone division). I've achieved 22 down on 3g in cambridge before.

There are specialised variants of HSPA+ that phones dont tend to support and don't get fitted to cell towers which run upto 84, and an even faster variant accomplishing 672. Both of these have reduced range and large power requirements. Dont think they get used commercially anywhere.

Cat3 LTE runs 100megabits as standard. Cat4 150, cat5 300. Most phones only support cat3 and occasionally 4, most cell towers only support 3.

My iPhone lags when it types and it is a super brick. I am unsure whether that would affect the speed test if I did one. Probably wouldn't be able to handle it lol.

It seems like my internet provider is selling more bandwidth than they actually got, so the internet is getting bottlenecked when more people surf the web.
I am actually paying for 4 mbit down and 1 mbit up, but i am only able to reach those speeds at night time or early in the morning.

This is not lies, this's where I dance, (yes I'm a professional dancer) you're just jealous.

P.S. I live in Utah where Google Fiber is available.
