This is the 1991 - 1996 Chevy Caprice Classic. Ive been working on this mod for quite some time now and its almost 70% done. Unfortunately there are still areas in which I am not proficient which causes the work on this mod to hit a huge bump. Here are some photos. The car runs and crashes properly with minimal spiking, the jbeam just needs a few finishing touches. UPDATE: I decided to release the Caprice Classic mod in its current state due to the fact that its based on the previous grand marshal jbeam and the more the game updates, the higher the risk of this mod not working anymore. For some reason I am unable to modify the jbeam, textures or 3d model anymore. Every time I try, parts disappear for no apparent reason (maybe because its the previous grand marshal jbeam). Parts such as engine, suspension, driveshaft, steering etc... were animated and separate from the rest but after the game update they no longer work. So I went back to the caprice's "Safe Mode". UPDATE 07/24/2021 Added police variants including NYPD, NYC,LCPD, Chicago police, Detective and a customised version. Several Jbeam improvements as well as some PBR upgrades. This mod still needs alot of improvements which will probably come later at some point in time. Download link will be added in the next few days. UPDATE 07/07/2022 Re-did the whole jbeam (All vehicle parts one by one). Vehicle size and dimensions are now correct and similar to real life model. Reduced spiking. Added boat version with custom Jbeam. Added new Donk rims and other wheels with Jbeam. Minor random 3D model fixes. I could do some textures for you if you need it, I'm pretty experienced with it and would be happy to help
Excellent , I would really appreciate it and it would be a huge help if you could teach me how since there are alooot of parts on the car that need texturing. Ill send you a DM.
This looks nice and detailed. Are those wire wheels? You might want to check in with SgtFido. Most of the chassis/suspension parts are if not identical, at least straight-line descendants of those on his mod. Same with the transmission.
I have to ask, did you make the model? But otherwise it looks great! You could probably just use the grand marshal jbeam as a base unless thats what you already did!
Hey guys unfortunately I did NOT make the 3d model although it is heavily modified by me. Its from a GTA5 mod. When and if the mod is finished ill be sure to give proper credit. EDIT : And yes the whole car is based on the grand marshal JBEAM and heavily modified.
This seems promising enough, seeing how you made sufficient progress. But since you said that you didn't make the model, please give credits to the original author of the model; that's all I'm asking. With that said, I would like to contribute to this mod. If there's anything you need help with (props, glowmaps, etc.), let me know; I'm more than happy to help out
Hey thanks alot, been working alot on this mod. Absolutely I will credit the author as I said in a previous post, if the mod is ever released. Also I could really use some help and your contribution would mean alot. I will DM you.
