Here's an update to my texturing job so far. I still have a ways to go such as the frame, interior, engine, roll cage, dash, etc. Of coarse there will be quite a bit of mesh and texture touch ups and tweaking. I'm fairly happy with how things are looking so far which is rare for me. I think the overall feeling of the vehicle is coming through to convey a since of an old beater that you can thrash the &()@*& out of hehe. I'm still not sure how much of this is going to show up once I reduce the texture size for game use, but one way or the other, this has been a lot of fun creating so far ( and a lot of work too ).
Cant wait for this thing to come out I was just wondering, any idea if you'll make a second bumper available? Wanting to derby this thing(I know 50's Chevy's are technically junk in the derby world..) but yeah...when else am i going to have the opportunity?
Not really sure as of yet. Right now this is pretty much of an all purpose "thrash-n-trash" kind of car which should work for most all cases. I still have to learn how to beam everything and create slots to be able to have options available. The texturing is pretty much finished so far for the body ( and looking pretty good I must say ), the only thing left is texturing the wheels then I can start with the coding. I should have some update pics soon. Thanks for the interest
Thanks guys. I finally finished the texturing. Now I'll go back and tweak here and there and adjust where needed. After that I'll have to add smoothing goups, materials, and file organization.
Dude you did an extremely impressive job on the textures! Great job man! Can't wait to see it in game!
OMG, classic stock car... BONER!!! but i like them like this: short track version, fat tires, radius cut wheel wells Your detailing on the car is impressive and the textures are just WOW! keep the great progress going, good luck and lots of patience
Fucking hell that was brutal. I always figured those older model cars were tanks because they are so heavy. Oh how wrong I was indeed.
this doesn't count (IMHO this '59 Belair was a rust bucket in disguise) if the A pillar wasn't made the way it was on that car i think it would stand up much better against that Malibu or in any other crash for that matter, but this is the risks of driving a car with SOUL, modern cars have crumple zones, back then... YOU was the crumple zone
They ARE tanks. They use a ladder chassis, which the cops still use because it's just so tough when you ram someone. Also, an old car will still run after a crash while newer cars can't really, since all the car is supposed to take the damage to protect the driver. And old car will kill you but run again, a new car will protect you but never run again.
