It was true though, she spoke really bad Engrish. How do you blindfold an Asian woman? Put a windshield in front of her.

Welllll... I nearly crashed twice... First was on an icy street(while the rest of the village had almost clean roads, strangely enough), car went straight in a corner. Pulled handbrake(that was my only option to not go head-on into a pole), back end came round, floored it in the direction I wanted to go, slalomed a few times and saved it from going back-first into the pole/curb. Second was when I was trying to get my new open diff underpowered rwd car to drift. Jerked the wheel, gave it some gas on a reverse camber corner, spun out. Not really a near crash(there wasn't much close to me that I could hit), but sure felt like it.

The only time I "Crashed", was when I backed up a driveway in pitchblack darkness and scraped along a mailbox that was lower than the lowest edge of my windows. A mailbox that was so loose in the ground, I managed to get a 20cm scrape on the side of my car before I actually noticed I was hitting anything.

Um, oh and yeah my sunroof flew out because I decided to work on my car in the dark, with 5 hours of sleep, after a 9 to 5 work day, and forgot about the sunroof only being bolted down with the rear bolts, not the front, when bringing some jumper cables back to work... "BANG" followed immediately by "Oh why am I such a moron!". Pretty stupid, but you learn from your mistakes: don't start doing something on 5 hours of sleep after already a full day of work. Noone was hurt by the roof btw, luckily it landed(mangled) on the side of the road, and not on someones windshield.

As for an actual crash that I was involved in:
Went on holiday with parents and sister. Me in my moms car, dad and sister in a rental car with sister driving(she had a tiny hatchback of her own, but decided to rent a station wagon for safer travels on the German Autobahn).
Driving along behind my sister/dad. Suddenly a lot of very heavy braking due to a slow truck going into the passing lane, sister somehow stopped VERY quickly(most likely because the engine stalled), and even though we were not tailgating at all, we definitely couldn't brake in time. Mom swerved, missing them within about 10 cm, forcing a truck(which luckily noticed it) onto the hard shoulder. My mom: "Jesus, that was so close to being an accident!" *me looking behind seeing glass and dust in the air* "Shit, something happened though". Car behind us plowed into their car doing about 80km/h. We stopped on the hard shoulder. Both cars totalled, none of the doors opened, so both sister and my 65 year old overweight dad had to climb through the window... Dad had to go to hospital with pain in his back. His seat had completely collapsed in the accident. After a few hours he got released from hospital on painkills, and we continued on our way to Austria, with 4 adults and the luggage of 2 cars all piled into 1 car. Wasn't a fun drive at all.

Imagine what would've happened if she was driving her own hatchback, instead of the stationwagon...
Oh, and then on the way home after holidays, within 100 meters of where the accident happened, we got a flat tire... Which was weird.

Hated the car in question, couldn't sell the car and the scrapyard wanted to charge me to take it off me. Took it into the country deliberately crashed it into a tree, abandoned it to walk to the next village. Took the bus home, haven't heard anything about it since. Car crash, yes. I enjoyed it. Consequences... nope. Cheapest way to be rid of the fucken thing. I imagine it was discovered and crushed somewhere, but I like to think its still there rotting away.

The first car crash I was ever in was in a 1991 Ford Escort, me and my granddad where going to pick up my sister from the cinema when some guy cut us off, it was dark and out of nowhere we rear ended a red Vauxhall and I ended up headbutting the dashboard. (Explains a lot about me...) the only real damage was the bonnet got bent up and slight frame damage, my granddad sledge hammered the front bumper bar back into shape and replaced the bonnet with a green one he found in a scrap yard he used that car about 5 more years until in 2009 it became to expensive to keep on the road so she got sent to the scrapper.

Go find out! Is it a road people drive on regularly?

In the woods behind my house there's a sort of path. If you followed it you came to an old-ish Volvo (Like late 80s or 90s) station wagon just abandoned there. Not stuck or anything. Back window smashed in and apparently sometime after we saw it for the first time a tree fell on it. It looked like it was cut with a saw.. If you kept on going you found an old van. It was a long time ago when I saw it but I remember there was the engine between the front seats that had no cover and there was like an old mattress or something in the back on the floor. The last time I went out there the Volvo was gone but I haven't gone as far as where the van was/is in a looong time so I dunno.

EDIT: With the Volvo, I remember seeing stuff like an old motor oil can and part of a smashed headlight next to the path after it was gone.. And the van didn't look like it was stuck, just like it had been there a long time. I would go back out there and see if the van is still there, but the woods there is private property and I think bears live in it. (Not sure if there are any that actually live there, but we have seen bears in it.)

Also one almost crash/scary moment, A few years ago, we were going to the beach. Folly Beach, South Carolina, to be exact. Anyway, it was my parents, me and my sister. Well we were in my moms car (maxda cx9) with 4 people, a helluva lot of luggage, and 4 bikes crammed onto a bike carrier on the hitch. But we were on this 4 lane interstate. It was somewhere in SC, I don't remember exactly, and we were going along with traffic at about ~60mph (have no idea how may kph that is, but I think it's like 120kph. Probably wrong). We were following this pickup truck hauling a big, tandem axle box trailer in the very left lane. It wasn't like a semi trailer, but it was pretty big. Well one of this guys tires blows out, and we are right behind him. It was a pretty loud bang, and then the trailer started rattling and banging and making all sorts of sounds as it wobbled around. Well my mom was driving. My mom isn't a terrible driver, but sometimes she just doesn't think. She didn't back off of this guy at all. She stayed the same distance from him that she was at even before the tire went out. Even after tire shreds started to hit the car, my dad had to tell her to back off. Well no one will let this dude over, so we've probably slowed down to about 20 in the very left lane while everyone else speeds by just a few feet away at >60mph. I bet it was just pure chaos behind us with everyone slamming on the brakes. I was afraid an un attentive semi driver would plow into the back of the pack. This guy somehow made his way across the rest of the lanes and no one was harmed. Genuinely felt sorry for the guy.

i was driving along the highway, and some elderly lady wanted to do a left turn. the only problem being that she wasn't pulled up enough, so her rear bumper was sticking out. i notice it a bit too late, and the traffic conditions were bad. cars back up to the right of me, and some dude was tailgating behind me. to avoid some serious crash, i decided i will just scrape her bumper. my reasoning is if i slammed on the brakes then the tailgater would hit me, and if i pulled to the right i would hit some peoples doors shut.

I've been in multiple crashes but never the driver.
Once we were driving down a mountain road in my dads friends 1980's Toyota Camry when a Kangaroo decided to cross the road, slammed straight into it at about 30km/h. The bastard got up and hopped away so we just drove off. (Don't remember any damage)
Another time my mother & I were in a car park in here 2006 Camry when I told her there was a park behind her she could reverse into. As she started to reverse into the park, a woman in a 2001 VT Commodore reversed out of another spot and they backed into each other. Small dent on the Camry's bumper & VT's rear fender.
2 weeks ago (I wasn't in the car) my mother stopped for a dog in the road, when a distracted woman in a Mitsubishi Mirage rear ended her 2006 Ford Territory TX. The Mirage has been written off, we don't know about the Ford yet. Apparently the frame is in a bad way.

Well lol.. I can add something to this thread. Not bad at all but hillarious... Alright I was driving my 07 civic with my fiance going down the road.. This guy for some reason was pulling out into the road up ahead. He was pulled off to the side of the road. Well I was in the left lane to pass him and he was doing about 45mph when I was catching up to him doing 55ish.. Out of no where a big black thing flew off the front of his car. At first I was like wtf... What is tha.. Oh shit it was flying straight for my car. I slammed the brakes and my fiance was like, Austin! That's all she got out and it smacked my hood and window. Well we both stopped on the side of the road. Turned out it was a autozone special hood scoop you like mount to your hood in some hoodrat way. Well this mofo tried to glue it on... There's glue on my windshield.. It put a nice dent in my hood and cracked the plastic piece below my windscreen wipers.

This just happened.. I'm still laughing about it... Oh well getting even newer paint for my Honda's hood :)

I know what you mean. I was at a cruise with my Honda Prelude and we were all doing 60km/h ( 37mph) and there was a roundabout coming up about a good 200 meters away. Silly me got distracted by a lovely girl in her 20s jogging down the street in a sports bra and shorts. Passenger yelled out "STOP!" so i looked forward and slammed on the brakes nearly rear ending a Nissan Stagea. Just for some more context there was a VW Golf (cant remember what year or trim it was) sitting on airbags behind me.

A long time ago when i was still little my sister was driving my brothers 'then' car which is now my car and she was at the lights waiting for them to turn green. They turn green and so she goes off and turns right. What happened next was, the guy that had his light just turn red didn't stop and tried to beat the red light and at that point my sister had already turned right and the guy is already behind us going somewhat faster than my sister. So he rear ends us and the rear bumper, both rear quarter panels, boot lid and left taillight is wrecked. The right taillight on the other hand, detached from the car then flew across the two lane street then landed into a bush and was still in one piece.
My sister and I were out of the car sitting on the roadside. She was an emotional wreck, crying and all. I was just sitting there thinking to myself "yes! i can get out of school today" but that didn't happen.

Wow, what kind of car was it? And you should get like 2-$400 depending on the vehicle at a scrap yard haha

I dunno if I'm a safe driver or just lucky, but I've never been in a car crash nor gotten close... ish. Well, the closest I ever came was
A: passenger when our car had a flat tire on a gravel road
    or
B: Somebody scraped the side of my car with theirs in the parking lot while I was in school.

Doesn't matter how safe a driver you are, a dick can still run into you.
