I'd say the Autobello will be held to Beam's "when it's ready" schedule, and will likely come before Italy.
Don't overthink too much It's much different that that. The fact it's 2 meshes is a technical choice for performance, as crazy as that may sound. It was not blindly. Issue is that lot of materials, and polycount are still a rough spot for the rendering engine. Although a GTX970 can (should) run that level quite fine nowadays (along with a decent CPU) Italy is a much bigger map and has an higher density of objects in comparison to WCU (don't get scared from this, this extra time we are taking is to work on performance!)
To not go into a white-rabbit-tunnel of thoughts You could come up with scenarios that are much worse than the reality (as example, that March date in his post )
In response to @Nadeox1 's posts: I believe the devs think that I was still thinking November. That extra time might only be a month, and we could see a December release. 6 month gap between updates. D: If it's Italy though, it's still worth it, but it'd be nice to see a little something small in between.
i wonder if the devs will just make us sit here as punishment for bugging them and then we are sitting till march to hear about any future updates lol
What I'm thinking hard is if Italy will become before Vulkan or with Vulkan, I would think that they will need longer time to have game broken to implement something like Vulkan, but also it might mean mods will be broken after it's release, so it might come in stages, but then again I have no idea how different it would be. I'm 90% certain it will come though, but would it be that first there are some optimizations for DX11 version to allow Italy to run or if it will be Vulkan with the Italy, that is really impossible to say. There still is small changes they choose other route than Vulkan, like keeping DX11, but I don't think that very probable at all.
Assuming Staff follow basically the same advice that you would give to an pedestrian forum member, we can safely say that you don't want staff to overthink "too much" Let's dissect this. Overthink, or thinking too much. This essentially means when you try to figure out something to such a degree, it becomes meaningless in many layers of anal-ysys You could say that originally Beamng was a simple physics simulator at the start, however, this simplicity was lost in many layers other mechanics. Assuming you like Beamng, you like layers of complexity. Except you said you didn't like layers of complexity, which means you strive for more simpler times. The Beamng equivalent of simpler times is ROR. Therefore, you want the staff team to slowly revert to ROR. Holy shit, ROR is being re-released. #hype /s
So does the fact that you are saying that the entire time it takes from now until Italy's release mean that Italy is complete? To me it sounds like it is at least 95% done if not 100%, and that it would be released if the lag issues didn't exist. Sounds legit, I think you make perfect sense /s
It will never be the same without JoshTheAwesome declaring the new update to come out every other day.
Ah the good 'ol days. He and I both like Buicks, so I guess it is my duty to say that the update will not be out on Friday.
