All he said was that there will be more Autobellos in the future... Not when, Not any clues to what kind of car... How is that any kind of hint or breakthrough?
It might not necessarily be what the next car after the Piccolina would be, but now we know it won't just be a 1-car brand (from what we know).
It does not necessarily mean that they would make another Autobello car, it could be some other car, like Wendover or Bluebuck or pretty much anything really. It just means that making wagon is for them so much work that it is better to use that time to make some other car.
"It does not necessarily mean that they would make another Autobello car, it could be some other car, like Wendover or Bluebuck or pretty much anything really." now i know that it doesn't mean they would make another Autobello car next, but it at least means they are thinking of making another model in the lineup at all...
I think that he was just giving hypothetical example, so that users could see how new same brand car would be considered over wagon variant as wagon is so much work. Nothing in that indicates that they would make another Autobello, imo, but considering they still miss typical italian/european small cars, especially from 70's, I would think they are going to make something to fill gaps.
I thought it was obvious to everyone it wouldn't be a 1 car brand. Why would BeamNG, a car game looking for immersion and car variety, pass up on a chance to create something like say... a 1990s Fiat Multipla. Making another brand would be a useless timewaster, so why not just use your already existing brand for Italian mass market cars?
Who knows, there is other Italian brand and haven't heard anything about new cars from that. Would they make something more in lines of Alfa or Lancia instead? How many car actually they have planned in total, if there is going to be many on each brand and still trying to cover all the gaps as they mentioned, it might be hundred or more? Is there going to be variety in different ages like with ETK and Pessima, then Autobello will of course see more vehicles, but how many cars there is actually going to be? If longer frame for D-series is not going to happen because it would be too much to manage, then how these all others would fit in picture?
Those are valid points, all I was saying was a dev hinting that another autobello might come out in the future is hardly any concrete grounds.
Yeah meant to say general fixes and improvements. Performance in general is nice to have, but UI performance sticks out like a sore thumb really. And yeah in heavy maps like WCUSA we need rendering improvements.
I don't care about maps, UI, Vulkrap, etc.. All that stuff does is delay the next update. I just want the car!
I have limited knowledge on such stuff, but Vulkan and UI changes would make the game run much better, allow larger more detailed maps but still with decent FPS. For people with lower end systems, things like these are incredible improvements and deserve high priority for the games progress.
But it would take forever to implement, so the updates (including the AB) probably wouldn't get to us until 2020. Is that what you want? Nothing but radar silence, punctuated by the occasional "look at the shiny shit we have that you can't play with!" tease from the devs, for at least the next 365 days? Sure, these are important, but it would be unfair to let them block content updates.
More cars, more detailed cars, more spectacular crashing @vmlinuz it kinda is other way around, more tech stuff is released, more you can except content to be released as they don't need to make so big maintenance upkeep when they release techstuff early, with more content it will take longer and longer to do techstuff that is necessary to do.
You can get more cars and maps from mods. Rendering improvements, optimizations, vulkan/Linux support, UI updates, etc cannot. I'd very very very much rather have that stuff than more content. If I had a say in the I'd say finish the engine of the game before you build the game on top, every later you add makes it harder to improve the basics that make everything many times better. But that's not what the kiddies want they just want cars and maps so that's what we get.
Ok, in that case the AB, Wendover and Bluebuck, as well as Italy, are cancelled. Instead we will focus on reworking the entire engine, making it all run like crap on anything but a 4-way SLI GTX 999999Ti Superclocked that supports Vulkan. We'll just let the users provide their own content from now on - Automation cars and mesh slaps should be enough. But at least it'll look pretty! Oh and no updates until we get all this done and bug-free - should be done faster than you can say "ray tracing," no more than a decade or two. You can wait, fuck you XD (Admittedly a bit of a strawman, but updates without content always disappoint a lot of people! We paid for a complete simulator with a variety of cars to drive and crash, not just a game engine. Official content is always way better than mods, no matter how good the mods are - even the ETK S-Series lacks properly textured panel gaps, which really annoys me for some reason. Only the Satsuma and Oldsmobile, the former of of which has not been updated in forever, are even close.)
