Video: Description: A simple map with endless possibilities Features: 81920Km² with extents Very simple style, seamlessly objects/terrains integration Various type of terrains and objects Teleports to quickly reach most zones and triggers for various purposes Makes use of weather system (via triggers) Day/Night switch (via triggers) Zones: Skydome (giant semi-suspended GRIP-like oval) Skyroad (trackmania-inspired race track in the sky) 70° Slope (giant 10km slope with walls) Minicity (a minified city with lanes and parking spots) Groundstrips (1. Prepped/Drag Asphalt 2. Wet Asphalt 3. Turbo) Various sized terrains Important notes: I consider this a beta release. There are a few things I still want to polish here and there. Performance may also be not optimal. First load could take a bit of time, due the large amount of complex and big meshes. Be patient and don't spam clicks/buttons. City textures won't appear correctly until version 0.12 of the game, as they make use of some new features. I still decided to release it now, as it does not appear heavily/noticeable broken in the current version. All triggers are activated by simply driving through them Screens: Credits: @AndrewKabakwu & @meywue - Help with scripting @Nadeox1 - The rest BeamNG.Drive 0.11 and up is required. For problems and support, use the discussion thread.
NOTE - Automatic / In-game repository installation won't be available immediately, since the mod was just uploaded. Give it some time. If it still doesn't work, give it more time. NOTE 2 - I'm open to suggestions for objects (or zones) to add on this map. To avoid excessive spam, I ask you to keep it real (ie. no weird requests). You must include a sketch/drawing of the object, so I can get a better idea. No sketch/drawing > Don't post a suggestion about objects. Also for time related reason, I do not promise that all suggestions will make it into the map.
I love it. It's a great map for testing, while also being on the bleeding edge of features. The teleportation is such a cool feature. My one complaint is there is a major lag spike entering the room with all the teleporters, but you're not there for very long Must have been a fluke, it doesn't happen anymore.
Some locations, like Skydome and Skyroad, have returning teleports (Not labelled, but you should easily see them). For other places I did not think it was necessary as you could drive back.
In which case it might be useful to have a flag or something tall and visible at the hub, since I couldn't see it from the city due to hills being in the way (plus angles due to the hub's flatness). In a slow car, it is quite a long drive. It might also be cool to put a decal on a wall in the hub that shows the "Home" key on the keyboard, even though this isn't an official level, it would be a nice touch for teaching the player the controls. Plus could be done in a fairly minimal and stylish way to match the rest of the map/Nadeox content style Other than that it's a cool map, look forward to seeing if/how it evolves.
ABSOLUTE amazing map. will you add a offroad section Slightly off topic but will you add right hand drive for more vehicles
I've got a little idea for an object. Relatively simple in nature, just a standalone barrel-roll style track piece that'd come out the ground. I'd imagine hillclimb cars could run through it fairly easily but its hard to say without attempting it in-game.
I LOVE this. We needed a newer Gridmap-esque release, especially since the unofficial "Grid 2". Not so much a suggestion, but I guess would hope to see this progress while still boasting its prime features (open area/high speed drift-friendly areas, trackmania style stunts, obstacles, physics tests, etc). The sheer size of this is great, along with minimal objects and textures will give this map plenty to do while giving great performance!
Am i the only one having FPS issues with this map? (Sure I've only got 2gb of Vram and an i3, but I can run most maps at above 60 fps average but this map i get below 30 most of the time (depending on where I am.) If it's something with my pc. then it's fine i don't really care as I know it's underpowered for this game. but I was just wondering cause nobody else has said anything about performance. Let me try to clear cache too and download map
Yea but it was extreme before i re-installed it. Now I've gotten a good 50 fps average around most parts of the map
The map is simple but still requires decent hardware due the large amount of big meshes (LODS are not used everywhere for visual reasons) (also higher than normal shadows resolution and billboards). 2GB of VRAM doesn't really say much about your GPU, but sounds like it's your hardware.
I've got an MSI GeForce GTX 1050. And after I re-installed and cleared my cache, i got a good average 50-60 fps.
excuse the bump but Nice map, but if it's dev-made, it's too high quality to not be included in the official game.
Thanks, but I've already replied to this. There's a difference between content made for the actual game, and stuff a staff member has done for fun in its free time. The first has to follow a plan and be in line with the other content, the rest is just a mod and can be as crazy and different as one wants. This started as a mod, and will stay as a mod.
