I third it, I've gotten an average 29 mpg with an even more massive 6.4L rental Dodge Challenger. Granted it had cylinder deactivation and my average speed was probably about 55 mph, but I wasn't always light on the throttle either. For those of you that agree with the sentiments of this video (basically says that combined brake+signal tail lights are a safety hazard and need to be banned), what do you think of the tail lights on the new Ram 1500 and Jeep Cherokee? They turn off the brake light when signaling like a combined unit would, but they flash amber instead of red. IMO it's the best of both worlds. Yeah combined tail lights might be somewhat ambiguous, but they make it much easier to see what someone is doing from farther away. So many auto manufacturers design nice LED tail/brake lights but then cheap out with an incandescent signal and, for me at least, it makes it hard to tell if someone is just turning or slowing down for some other reason that means I have to slow down too. Having an amber turn signal that overrides the brake light makes a lot of sense to me.
Here, combined lights aren't allowed. Your brake light is red, turn signal is amber, it is super clear from a distance what is happening. The real mad thing. Many vehicles mentioned in the vehicle are sold in Europe with separated lights, including the turn signal being amber
Braking is one action, turning is another. Seems logical to have different lights for them Can't understand all these butthurt Americans with their stupid arguments in the video's comment section.
I don't get why people care in the first place, it's just lights we have our stupid things and they have their stupids things, how about we all just shut the fuck up before before we make god, darwin, or who or ever you believe in disappointed.

Because having differently colored lights would decrease accident count. Cars without seat belts have worked for 50+ years, why did we introduce them then?
If it was a noticeable safety issue it would be known by now (like seatbelts) but it clearly isn't one. If you miss a car with a flashing light on one side then you aren't paying enough attention in the first place, regardless of the colour of that light.
Because it would cost to much for nothing, by the way why are we getting into politics, I thought that was one of the things you can't talk about on the forums.
We're talking about taillights. What would be the cost of that? A few dozen cents per car in added coloring?
Oh never mind I'm a idiot, as for tail lights, plus changing the lighting and by the end of the day, you're just saving the idiots (Even then they're probably driving a newer and more safer car.) that don't realize if something in front of you is blinking or change colors you should stop or at least slow down.

Nah, I remember the 10 people that do. Its probably just a regional habit or trend. Almost everyone in my area must be a retired BMW driver because they drive like maniacs
God, living in an area of the US that has people texting while driving everywhere has made commuting hell. I’m glad that I can walk to work now, or else I would be losing my freaking mind. People watch YouTube in their cars WHILE MERGING ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY. In one town near me that ticketed everybody who texted while driving, the police pulled over and ticketed 500 people in a week. In a reasonably small town center. Anyways, I think that integrated indicators/taillights are fine as long as the taillight turns off while indicating. The color of the indicator does not matter, just the fact that it is flashing makes it work. Amber and red are pretty similar colors too, so I doubt it would have any more than a marginal affect on crashes. No matter how good a taillight is, it cannot overpower somebody staring blankly at their phone. I think that taillights/indicator setups need to be bigger. Imagine being behind this in traffic: It would be awful for understanding what the driver is indicating! TL;DR : I live in a place with a lot of distracted drivers. The color of the indicator does not matter, but the size/brightness does.
Somehow, this looks worse than the new T-Roc, 2019+ Tiguan, and the original concept cars. All it looks like is a Jetta meets Polo meets sub-compact crossover.
