I know that, I watched the video. I may be just a dumb American but I can still watch YouTube videos and comprehend basic english.
On some vehicles yes, but some tail light designs suck and from a distance the brake lights make it very difficult to see a little incandescent bulb slowly blinking away.
What I can't stand is all the butthurt Europeans that came to America and immediately decided that the American way is dumb just because it was different and hard to get used to. Like, have some respect for our culture man.
Bigger doesn't necessarily mean brighter. There are lots of small LED tail lights that are far brighter than the big incandescent ones.

In my life, I've never failed to distinguish between a bright orange blink and a solid rich red on any vehicle. It's super clear for anyone not so visually impaired that they probably shouldn't be driving. There are rules on how bright they have to be etc over here

Why is color of some tiny bulb a very important piece of American culture?
Why do you assume everyone who doesn't approve the current rules is a " butthurt European"? He (or she) might as well be American concerned about traffic safety.
Finally, if something has been made unnecessarily hard to understand and get used to, it can be labeled dumb.

If it's hard to understand that if a flashing light on one side of the means it's going to turn to that side, than yeah you're a dumbass.

I've spent 20 years on this planet. Not once have I ever confused a blinking red light on one side of a vehicle to a solid brake light. If you must make laws to dictate that turn signals must be amber because your populous can't distinguish between a solid brake light and a blinking light on one side, then you need to rethink your driving education.

A flashing light on one side can mean a.) the car is turning b.) the car is stationary with hazards on with one light broken or obscured by snow/dirt
Flashing lights on both sides can mean a.) the car is undergoing an emergency braking b.) the car is moving and the driver applies the brake sometimes c.) the car is stationary with hazards on
With mentality like that, why even have taillights in the first place? If you can't see the car in front of you is getting closer or the driver is starting to turn the wheel, you don't belong on the road.
Plus, many modern cars flash hazards or stop lights during an emergency braking, too.

A.) Yes. B.) If it's stationary with hazards on it should be on the side of the road.
While with boths sides the only time you will see that on the road, (as in not on the side of the road which one of your examples fall into.) is during a funeral with a large line a car in front and/or behind it.

And that flashing would be on both sides of the car. If they aren't, that's an inspection failure and the car shouldn't be on the road. Don't be a fucking moron about this, brake lights are a necessity. Amber turn signals are not.

I guess you haven't driven behind a vehicle with tail lights like this:
    explorer.jpg subaru.jpg
The LED brake lights surround the incandescent indicator and make it very difficult to distinguish. There are plenty of other examples but the Explorer and Outback are the worst ones I've noticed. It's fine when both lights are one or the other, I have no issues seeing the turn signal on our FJ80, but mixing LED and Incandescent usually means one drowns out the other at long distances.
I was joking, sorry that sarcasm doesn't come across in text very well. Also I guess that means we shouldn't use the english language anymore, since it's unnecessarily hard to understand and get used to.

Thoughts on 21st-century pickup trucks? Personally, I feel that trucks have become more of a luxury SUV that you can put some extra things in the back. In my eyes, a real truck is a single cab with a bench seat with 0% thought put into comfort and 100% thought put into utility and capability has to have a manual gearbox (on the floor) and an American V8 or a diesel. If it is turbocharged it has to be for power, not fuel efficiency.

I like my heated leather bucket seats and I'm not giving them up. I'll risk being called a pansy if it means I don't have to freeze my butt off in the winter. Also crew cabs are way more useful than single cabs for a construction crew. IMO stuff like massaging seats and automatic trailer backing are a bit much, but people probably thought radios and 12v power outlets were too fancy for a truck so I'll let people buy what they want to buy even if I don't like all that extra stuff.

Explorer isn't available here, outback gives no issues, audi gives no issues.

I have had some issues with indicators before. Where the indicator is so small/dull that in direct sunlight I haven't been able to figure out where it is (LED strip, or actual bulb) and whether it is actually on or not. So IMO it should be very obvious where they are, and whether they are on or not. And these are issues that I have had while stood still waiting to walk across a junction.

However, indicators are just an indication, so regardless of what they say I am usually still pretty cautious.

And for the record, yes I do get my eyes tested every year or two, and no, I don't need glasses, my eyesight is perfectly good.

I don't normally care for supercars that much, but McLaren has somehow found the exact right formula for me specifically to really, really like this one.

It looks similar to the hypercar Jaguar made in the 1990s (XJ220 I believe).

If it had the front of the Senna, I would adore it. The wheel covers aren’t a successful design element IMO.

I honestly disliked it. The design just looks like another retro-wannabe.
