Fair enough. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/188?vs=88 it's definitely better, but I still wouldn't consider either ground breaking. Though, it does male me feel better knowing that my relatively new gpu still has a little headroom left in it. Comparison to the fx 8320: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/698?vs=88 Comparison to the I5 4670k: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/698?vs=88 The main thing I noticed with my athlon is that it really struggles in the physics department when compared to the phenoms. It only runs up to 60-70% CPU usage, but it seems to peaking on a single thread while doing that.
Right now I have: Windows 7 Hope Premium x64 (I'm skipping 8, depending on 9 I might just move to Linux) AMD FX-8120 at 4GHz ASRock 970de3/u3s3 Zotac GeForce 760 (2GB, I want a 270x or 7950 though) 8GB of DDR3 1600 4TB total of space (One 1.5TB and one 2.5TB) 1080 LED 120HZ Monitor Corsair Carbide 500R (White) Antec NeoEco 620
That 760 is actually a pretty good card, but if you want to buy another with a little + or - performance, then go ahead.
Current setup is a bit of a mix & match. Current case is from my original build back in 2007, as is one of my hard drives and my graphics card. Case: Thermaltake Xaser VI silver/black PSU: Corsair TX850 Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO CPU: Intel i5-3570K Cooler: Thermalright TRUE Black RAM: mushkin 32GB DDR3 1600 GPU: Sapphire HD4850 690/1138 (soon to be upgraded to a Sapphire VAPOR-X R9 280X) HDD: 120GB Intel SSD, 1TB WD Black, 3TB WD External, 8TB Drobo network storage (5x3TB WD Red drives) OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit
I've gotten it up to around 19-20GB. Combination of web browser with a lot of tabs, photoshop, premiere pro, a couple virtual machines and other misc programs.
Damn, that's good. I need more. I only have 4GB in a 32-bit OS, so it's more like 3.5. I usually have like 15 browser windows open, Blender, BeamNG, and anything else I may be doing. I have 350 MB free right now, LOL. I keep putting off installing a 64-bit OS. Interesting to hear you actually utilize it. Some people get 16GB for gaming and end up using only 3 or 4 max.

dell optiplex 780 tower(with upgrades) its temporary. specs pentium 4 dual core 10 gb of ram(gaming pc died so i stuck the ram in the optiplex) evga geforce gtx 650 160 gb hdd and yes. it runs beamng pretty well. old machine i just got today Compudyne Socket 7 pentium 40 mb of sim 2 gb hdd i have others but these are my favorites
It runs ok on a dual core eh? Most people around here think it's unplayable with anything less than an i5 quad.
Yup. I only game or render or encode at once, but I do a fair bit of messing with files and stuff. I thought I'd managed to royally mess up some of my minecraft code and introduced a memory leak. Turns out that 1.7 is horribly coded for the extreme world type. With optifine doing +32 chunks and AA and AF I'm using 6.83GB of RAM and all 2GB of my 770s VRAM. I was looking at a 16GB kit anyway.
I'm upgrading VERY substantially soon, but my current rig is Intel 2140 @ 1.6 GHz 4 GB of Corsair XMS Sapphire HD3850 2GB I know it sucks but I am getting a nice rig once I come across the money.
