So? People liked the Heron mod, and it wasn't that fast (mind you, that car is also from a old historic period). Just because it's under-powered doesn't mean he needs to write off the engine completely. I'd rather have something historically realistic, especially for a car like this.

Can we stop scolding the leyland dude? Just correct him kindly and don't rant the shit out of him. That's why alot of people find the BeamNG community to be toxic in the forums.

You should name it the 1929 Gavril Truck Co. Model D Type 1 6 wheeled truck.

In all seriousness, keep up the good work! I'm sure this'll be a great truck for Blue Collar workin' stiffs like the rest of us.

TL;DR: What he is saying is: Stop telling modders what to do, and let them use their creativity (unless they ask for suggestions).

You can give creators advice and opinions, but don't be mad when the said creator rejects them.

I spent some time working on improving the JBeam. Frame was redone in an hour and is already significantly better (Old one wasn't structured properly.) Rear leaf springs are functioning properly now and no longer invert in most ordinary situations. The front suspension is next, I need to redo the spring end shackles and the steering system since the current system isn't behaving realistically, and it's very difficult to keep the wheels pointed in the right direction.

I'm also jointly working on major improvements for the Vendetta, so stay tuned.

No, I think those days are over for simple but well built mods. Just minor maintenance and everything should flow smoothly from update to update.

Took this while fooling around with the suspension, obviously I need stiffer springs :p

Looking excellent (and suitably slow). I really like this little truck. Or is it small? How big is it compared to the D-Series and Pigeon?

no actually, i think the springs are fine.
    atleast for basic ones
Heavy duty ones should be stiffer, obviously

As I'm seeing that the bed (& fenders) are still untextured, I have a question :p Will the bed be made from metal, or wood? Or maybe a combo of both?

I'm going for an all metal body, no wood underframe. I'm hoping this isn't too far fetched, since while most vehicles of the time were still using wooden underframes in their bodies, the technology did exist for someone to potentially make an all metal body. Granted it'll be a very weak body, but it'll be interesting.

It wouldn't be too hard for me to add in a visual wooden subframe inside the cabin and adjust the JBeam accordingly if I choose to change over, but we'll see what I decide to do.

AFAIK the box will be made of metal. Other upfits and whatnot like a flatbed will probably incorperate some wood elements.

Comparable to a D series... It's larger than a hopper, yet slightly smaller than a D series. Trucks were much smaller back in this time, even the heavy duty trucks were kinda small compared to todays semis, though since this truck is more of a light to medium duty class truck, it's smaller than the large trucks of its day.

I agree, it should be stiffer. Will there be a 2 tone color option? (Like the Smith Truck from Mafia II.) Also, I like the engine sound, but I, personally, think it should be a bit throatier, like an L-head Ford 4 cylinder. But, recording new engine noise isn't easy. Anyway, the model is looking fabulous, and I can't wait to drive it!

No. It isn't dead. Progress has been slow lately :/ Not much to show for it right now, but it's not dead.
