Considering that the Police Interceptor is just a Police-specific Ford Explorer, these photos are also representing what the production car will eventually look like.

Also, the ironic thing that makes it the Police Interceptor is the stickers on the side of the car (so they're not even trying to hide what the car is supposed to be).

You sure about that? Because those spy shots of the new interceptor look pretty transverse-FWD to me.

That's because the latest rendition of the platform will be flexible enough to work in either FWD or RWD, and of course AWD. It's not the first time that Ford's done this, since the previous generation Ford Transit was offered in a FWD, RWD, or 4WD layout as well. But chances are, with this new "CD6" platform as it's going to be called now, it opens up the gates for Lincoln to have a RWD sedan again.

Tonight, I watched Vanishing Point (1971). Without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it, easily a head scratcher of a film. It follows a similar formula to the likes of Gone in 60 Seconds and Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.

Watch it. For God's sake, watch it. It's an exercise in the definition of what freedom is, and the underlying sub-plots and little nuances throughout the film are things to pay attention to, and the foreshadowing is subtle, but also heavy.

If you love cars, and are interested in what film-making should be, watch it.

Picked this up about a week ago now. '06 Yamaha FZ1, very very clean. Heck, the guy selling it teared up a bit when I was getting ready to leave with it. Definitely the cleanest vehicle I've ever owned.

Didn't put it on this chat yet, but i did put it in a discord server, but basically on Wednesday, instead of my normal route, i decided to go on a different bus route, which is apparently slightly faster, and stops nearer my college. I'm waiting and find it is 15 mins late :( then once i get on the bus (Caetano Nimbus, i think it was a short version) and oh my god, the bus driver was on a mission! 1st gear all the way to the limiter, then 2nd, then 3rd so we must have been going about 50 mph as it was scooting along quite quick in 4th gear, he then braked, as he passed a speed camera, but then whoosh off again as we passed it, with the bus not being able to go into 3rd (due to speed), so was just 4th gear. But still it was absolutely flying. Then at the next set of lights, whoosh off again, foot to the floor with the bus holding gears and shooting forward. Going quite quick round corners also, you could even say we were darting around :p

While looking at my old neighbourhood on Google Maps, I spotted an abandoned car in someone's backyard.

Does anybody have any idea what it is?

I just discovered this company. Probably going to buy and build my own when I get the money/time.

    An XJ-13 or a Lola T70 or a Ford GT40 for 50k? Yes, please.

All this just a couple weeks after VW-sponsored radio ads start trying to tell everyone that gasoline is the past and EVs are the present. As if. One of the things that really, really ticks me off is companies that have no professional integrity and will say anything, do anything, be anything to make a few extra dollars. Just like Toyota advertising their new Corolla as a street fighter in Road & Track but a safe family hauler during TV broadcast of a baseball game. Pick one, and stay with it.

It's more about trying to sell it with different images, but not at the same time. Like I said - no professional integrity, instead they try to be all things to all people so you never know which side they're on (except their own, of course).

Toyota is honestly one of the worst for that. I've even heard of them sponsoring small-town baseball leagues, and why would they do that I wonder? Is it out of appreciation for honorable competition? Do they have some monstrous, burning hatred for obesity? No, they're just trying to make themselves look like a flag-waving, Fourth-of-July-celebrating, super-duper-American company, probably the same reason they joined the NASCAR Sprint Cup. And then they run ads for their off-road vehicles calling up images of the Wild West, yeah, I don't think so Akio.

Maybe professional integrity is the wrong term. "Sincerity" might be more like it. It's like the retail outlets that jump straight from Halloween to Christmas, completely ignoring Thanksgiving, with the Christmas stuff going up immediately after Halloween assuming it wasn't already up during Halloween - and maybe accompanied by some offensively PC advertising intended to downplay any Christian connotations Christmas might originally have had. The reason is, of course, that there is very little money to be made off Thanksgiving, and lots from Christmas. In either case, people with real passion for... anything at all are relegated to the lower rungs of the organization, and those running it are motivated by pure greed. I don't doubt that there are real car enthusiasts working at Volkswagen, and I don't doubt that there are real EV enthusiasts working at Volkswagen, but neither one is in charge; the decisions, especially about marketing, are being made by moneygrubbers who think they can get richer by playing both sides (or who think the money is on the EV side and who just threw the hot rodders a bone to keep them quiet).

What did you expect from a company trying to make profits?

The only thing more beneficial than working for one side is somehow working for them all, selling EVs and diesels, sports cars and vans, street machines and econoboxes...

In fact, that's European VAG for you. Everything from electric minicars to 250+ MPH hypercars.

Can someone tell me why is it so hard to find a Silver Ford Escort GT from the 90's?

My dad had a 1988.5 Escort GT in maroon. 1.9L HO with a 5-speed. He misses that car something fierce. He's had 3 Mustangs, a Chevette, countless trucks and SUVs, still talks about that Escort GT.

Can't find them. They've all rusted away.
