lol it's 100% sarcasm. that 3000GT dude is pretty funny though.:p
also, if it was around 1500-2000hp, through the front wheels, i seriously doubt any kind of tire setup would be grippy enough to tear up any axles or anything. if the clutch can even handle it, the tires will just spin forever and ever. the honda tranny is also a pretty big weak point.

but no, i don't even own a civic. and if i did, i would keep it NA, rev it to the moon, and invest in some proper suspension and tires for track use. no funky body kits, and i probably wouldn't add any funky aero without running it through a cfd software first to make sure it's efficient. ;)

Its hard to assume that someone saying he got 1000hp with an air filter is serious.

    good
I didnt think you were that much of an idiot ;)
lol it really is funny though. On a drag strip, with huge sticky radials, i could see it snapping an axle, or most likely the tranny.
Anyway I would totally keep a civic NA and tune it to redline at like 10K with lots of suspension and brake mods. definitely a little bit of aero, but not much.

yeah. I only really saw 1000HP with a turbo only.
i didnt really read the whole airfilter/stock block thing lmao.
    me being stupid again :p

also, to make 1600hp at 12,000 RPM, only 700 ft/lbs of torque is needed, which is relatively low, and a proper built motor could handle that. a 1.6 could probably make that much torque with some nitrous and methanol (and a high-boost turbo of course). but stock internals though, no way.

naw, you would totally blow the entire motor on stock internals. Most everything would need to be changed to even hit 1000HP, let alone more.
also with that much HP and torque, its much more reasonable to see a 2.0L making that. EG, a tuned 4G63T or something.

yeah. i'm sure someone will be crazy enough to do something like that someday though. with a 2.0L engine, only 875 ft/lbs is needed at 12,000RPM, which is less than 500 ft/lbs per liter.
totally possible with billet parts and the most aggressive setup.

probably get like 20 ft/lbs at 2000 rpm though lol. full boost not achieved until maybe 8000rpm, and a massive amount of it.
ran on pure ethanol, and it would need a rebuild every run. not sure how cooling would either

you'd need an insanely decent base motor, something like an F20C bored and de-stroked with a billet block

v6 as of now, but they're making maybe 1200hp max.

but.... take a look at this:
    https://www.motor1.com/news/129113/honda-civic-fwd-quarter-mile-record/
1,850hp from a 2.0L engine, still FWD, and stick shift.

    also... check this out too:
    http://motonetworks.com/mitsubishi-evo-absolutely-bonkers-thanks-massive-turbo-13000rpm-redline/
not sure how believable this is, but supposedly 2,000hp from a 4G63T de-stroked to a 1.8L. that's about 1,111hp per liter.

remember when 300hp used to be a ton?
