Do you even know what normal maps and textures are? I'm not talking about performance figures; I'm talking about visuals.

Sorry for the off topic, but will you ever be releasing other vehicles such as Planes gabe? Just occurred to me as I'm aware it's a very different field of knowledge however I'm sure you skills would be easily transferable.

    Also,

Not wanting to add fire to the debate, but wasn't your first mod a lightly edited Bolide J-Beam placed on a tf3dm porsche model? I know you wanted it removed eventually, but surely that's what got you Into modding in the first place.

You're missing the point completely, I had permission to use that model, I even went out of my way to ask for it. And I fully credited him.
And if you missed it, the Porsche has been gone for like half a year now.

Rules: Make sure you have all proper permission and credits for whatever you're working on.

The mod I deleted did not, and he even claimed someone from modsgaming made it.

Actually I didn't miss the point at all. The truth is that regardless of its origin, and who credited it with who's permission, a lightly edited J-Beam with someone else's model on it is where most modders start, so why delete it? I'm with T-dev on this one, and if the rules state you don't need permission for a mesh, why bother getting it and why's that important? I don't agree with these Russian mods, but it doesn't mean they're wrong and if they're within the rules then so be it.

I suggest you read the rules right here > Rules

I never deleted it because of the quality, it was deleted because he claimed to have made it, and the guy that uploaded it, uploaded it on behalf of the main modsgaming modder, who doesn't have a BeamNG license. Go figure.

It's not like I look at it and go, "Oh shit mod!" *Delete*. It was removed because it broke the rules, which don't seem to matter at all.

It obviously can't have been against that many rules if deleting it got your mod powers removed.

It odd that you say now you didn't delete it because of quality when in you initial post you say "it was not of a good enough quality", then introduce a load of new information about who made it now. Perhaps I should buy the mods gamer modders each a license so they can make there mods legal, because if that's what your saying we could enjoy them on the forum since they don't actually seem to be breaking any rules that this forum enforces.

Ok so the rules don't matter. In that case hey need changing or perhaps someone could make them more clear as I remember quite a few mods that definitely had no permission to use the models not being deleted until quite some time after initial upload. I also remember tdev posting somewhere that until copyright claims and requests for removal are filed it's fine to host these so called "illegal mods" on the forum. So if as you say it was against the rules, the rules obviously need changing as the developers clearly don't agree with them.

You can argue your point all you like, I was following the written rules pinned at the top of the vehicles forum.

And I'm really not sure if my moderator powers were removed because of Gabe promoting me without asking them first, or the fact that I deleted that thread(Which tdev wasn't happy about either).

Yea, that's one truth. What I'm gathering from your massive off-topicness, is that you really don't care if a new person slaps a forza mesh on one of Gabe's node/beams, and then claims he made the whole thing.

That doesn't matter because he's new and has to start somewhere, so why not start off thieving and lying, right? The original creator(s) don't have access to the Drive forums, but even then all they have to do is find the thread, file a complaint, right?

    1. I was not the only one off-topic, its a discussion in which i got involved.

    2. If Turn 10 were worried about the mesh theft, which i assure you they absolutely will not be, they would email the Developers and file a complaint. Im not sure you understand that these mods are not currently within the drive forums but are on external sites so no license is actually required to view them. Even if the mods were introduced to the forums, they would still be visible on youtube videos and it wouldn't be hard for them to make a complaint if they wanted.

    3. Quite frankly, if you start off thieving, asking, or creating it yourself the end result is normally the same. A low quality mod based on, or designed around one of Gabe's J-Beams. Many of the russian mods I've seen don't fit the stereotype of a "forza mesh slapped on one of Gabe's unedited node/beams" at all. Take skiper for example, yes he used an Asseto Corsa mesh for his mod, but he made a J-Beam from scratch, the car was fun to drive and it looked great. It was technically a far better mod than many of the things on the forum now but it got removed. Perhaps if we invited more of these russians to join the real forum rather than just shunning them away with casual racism and exhausted jokes about mesh theft, they would see the myriad of amazing quality 3d models that need J-beaming in the WIP threads and turn their skills to a better use.

I know it goes against the grain, especially for those of us who migrated from RoR to have a pro-russian attitude, but imagine if they all joined the forums today and offered to make or edit J-Beams for all the 3d models in the showroom. The number of mods that get churned out would increase 10 fold.

    1. Was based on D-15?

    2. Looks good because he didn't make it.

    3. Skiper didn't do the n/b, the same guy that made that mod I removed did.

Still looked great, drove great and had a fitting J-Beam though. In my eyes that makes it a good mod, regardless of its origin.

No, but you keep on missing the point me and Sam are trying to make and then bringing up more things that aren't very relevant to the topic that initiated this. I don't give two shits about what people do on other forums. I'm talking about this one, and the people who will upload other peoples work and claim it as their own.

How do they not? Do you know nothing about vehicle's suspensions and that something like a BMW does NOT have a solid rear axle?

Again, you confuse me. You seem to be all for being a person who has shit morals, shit dignity, and is lazy/arrogant?

Edir for below: Wow, make sense much? I can't argue with someone this psychotic.

taking what i say out of context, assuming I have limited knowledge and yourslef making a completely irrelevant point whilst accusing me of making irrelevant points. I noticed you have also conveniently failed to quote any of the text in which i actually make my point leading me to believe that you simply want to insult me and attempt to make me appear stupid rather than engage in a sensible discussion about why perhaps we should encourage the russian modders onto the forum so they can improve their skills and create 100% legal mods rather than simply shun them away.

If you genuinely do want to discuss this, because it would appear that both you & sam fail completely to understand the problem im trying to address, I suggest you actually explain in one line what "the point me and Sam are trying to make" is and perhaps then, when its not shrouded in swearing and arrogant comments, it will be a little harder for me to miss.

*Cough* and apparently derbies in a car thread are off topic *cough*

Anywho, I'm sure you're going to make a trailer for this too, right Gabe? Would be really fun to see a flat bed trailer, maybe an enclosed trailer too... But definitely something I can put cars on/in
