Boxer? You mean shitters, I joke but on the other hand Porsche is known for their Boxers and you can still see them racing in LeMons, not winning, I mean it's a Porsche in LeMons, you're better off with a Pinto.

Just because its in LeMons doesn't mean its reliable or unreliable.

It just means that somebody abused their car to hell and back, and then sold it for under 500 bucks to the said LeMons driver.

Judging the quality of a car by whether or not it ends up in lemons is like judging the quality of steak after dunking it in swamp sludge and letting it sit out in the sun for 2 weeks.

"There were no good performance engines from the 80's"

Bullshit. Put yourself in the 80's for a moment. You want a muscle car, but the mid-late 70's are still fresh in your mind. 225HP from a 5.0 Mustang is highly appealing, considering the fastest Mustang II you could get had 150HP. Sure, we can get way more power out of way less displacement today, but in an era of beginning EFI and still newish emissions regulations, 225HP wasn't something to sneeze at. Hell, Ferrari's fastest Mondial at the time made 300HP from 3.4L and with 32 valves.

Also, have we forgotten a little thing called the F40?

    Or the 288 GTO?

2.9L Twin Turbo V8, putting out 395HP. The F40 did it better by putting out 471HP. Both cars existed in the 80's, with the F40 lasting to the early 90's. I'd say that's pretty powerful at the time.

Boxer engines (or Flat layouts whatever you want to call them), have excellent lateral acceleration as the center of gravity is lover than that of a V or Inline, it's very well balanced, better cornering capability, decreased roll and more grip. In my option, boxers win hands down over a soggy big block SOHC V8.

Except for their tendency to leak oil everywhere and the fact that in most cases, you have to split the block to do anything inside. If the boxer really were superior in every way, more manufactures would use it.

I'm not a believer in boxers at all.

    “Very well balanced....”

No. Needs balancing shafts like a V6 does.

Well, tell me how they are "the best".

    BTW, here's a nice-looking modern BMW.

I'd say it's one of the best BMW designs of this year!

Some of the Vision GTs are straight-up wacky, but Mazda's entry excites me, especially since it's powered by what is essentially a Skyactiv R26B and has a fair amount of realism to it (unlike the 2X or the Tomahawk X).
