Holden Commodore Royale wagon. By the time he got the car, he left the company, seeking new life by starting his own coffee shop business. In 1989 his own company was flourishing, so he finally bought a second car, a brand new Mazda Miata as his own reward.
In 1992, he finally sold his Commodore for a even larger, more luxurious car...

...Holden Commodore VS SS. It was a quite sporty Aussie sedan, and it was a bit of a change that he enjoyed. He still owned the Z3, now as a personal daily, but in 2003, he married to a Holden enthusiast and pub owner Ivy O'Brien. He decided that it would be nice to go back to more luxurious vehicles, and bought a Holden...

Caprice. He ended up preferring it to the sports sedan he had before as a main car. In 2006, the Z3 was sold and a Lotus Exige replaced it. Mr. Winsley liked it, but sometimes missed his BMW's build quality. Five years later, the Caprice was traded in to be replaced with a...

...2010 BMW 535i, as he wanted another BMW for some time. The build quality is still as good as it is, but it's horrendous reliability made him sold the car a year later. Then, he bought another German sedan, of course it wasn't a BMW, but came from another company...

...Audi. It was an A6 3.0 TFSI, which performed far better in terms of reliability. Two years later, the Exige was sold and replaced with a tuned Subaru BRZ, a car that was less track-focused, but better for daily use, thus more liked by its owner. Still, he sold it in 2017 due to old age making it hard for him to enter the car. The Audi is still in their first owner's possession, but Mr. Winsley is looking for the Audi's replacement, this time a crossover.

    1975 Mercedes 280SE wagon:
In 1975, Theodore Jennings, a high-end speedboat dealer and enthusiast from Miami, bought a Mercedes 280SE to get a more luxurious and reliable replacement for his 1971 Citroen DS21 wagon. The car was an Euro-spec model, converted to a wagon by UK engineering company Crayford.
Jennings used the Mercedes as a daily driver for him and his family, including the yearly cross-country trips (including one during which the rear window was broken by thieves, and a replacement had to be shipped from Europe).
In 1980, the custom 280SE was sold to be replaced with a Zender-converted 420SE. The '75's buyer was...

...Michael Benson, who wanted a luxury car with enough space for his surfing stuff. The Merc was exactly what he was looking for - well-built, spacious, relatively fuel-efficient. He had the Benz for 7 years, but could not afford the same maintenance Jospehs did, and as a result, the car was in need of TLC when he was selling it in 1999. THe buyer was...

    Let's try another story.

    James Hawthorne:

James was a working-class Californian. In 1970, at the age of 17 he saved up enough money to get his first car - a Hudson Jet. It was cheap, but ran well enough for him until 1973, when its engine wore down so much that he couldn't afford to fix it. In 1974, he used his plumbing school graduation gift money ($180) to buy a slightly nicer, working car - a...

a 1963 Ford Falcon. In 1977, he left the plumbing agency that he worked on, and started his own company making computers, with his bank account savings and the money he got after he mortgaged his home.
Somehow, the company became a massive success thanks to successful product launches and James finally can afford something miles better than his old Falcon. So, in 1980, he got a brand new...

In 1987, his company has finally secured a massive deal to produce computer chips and storage devices to the American government. To celebrate this occasion, he sold both of his cars, and got a something that is big and British...

After three years, in 1990, the Jaguar's owner decided to switch to a competitor when buying a new car. He chose a...

...'90 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was not as luxurious as the XJ12, but it was more modern. He found the car to be pretty satisfying, and kept it way longer than his previous car. The car was kept from 1990 to 1998, when the driver decided he wanted a more higher-tier fullsizer. He sold off his Grand Marquis for a...

got himself an SUV. The SUV he got is the BMW X5 4.6is. Although the car has some problems, he loved the car.
In 2004, he finally got himself a new Pagani Zonda S to complement his X5, as his weekend car.
In 2008, he initially planned to get a another BMW to replace his trusty X5. But then the Great Recession came, and the company's total profits dropped hardly. So, to save costs he decided to change to a cheaper car...

New Story: 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertible
In July of 1962, Dewey Cusato, a GM employee and fan living in Opelika, was looking for a new full-sizer that would suit him well. The Starfire convertible was his final pick, and made it his new daily since his Buick LeSabre from a few years ago. The car did get a custom paintjob to a Beige-ish color, though that was the only customization he did during his ownership. In 1969, he died of tuberculosis in a bus to his friend's house. The car was then sold of to...
