I received my new brakes in the mail, I got around to installing the front 2 rotors and pads. My job affords me the ability to take advantage of the car lifts and mechanic's toolbox if I give them advance notice that I will be working on my car. After installing them, and doing proper "seating" procedure, I am impressed with the stopping power and (after a brake flush) the pedal is much tighter and firmer and braking power is much more linear and solid. Before, the brakes were really lazy and didnt do panic stops very well. WIth the new slotted/drilled rotors and Ceramic pads, I am blown away. And I still need to do the rears. While doing the brakes, I popped in a set of new LED headlight bulbs. The brand name is Hikari, I got a set for like 35 bucks on Amazon. The nice thing about these particular lights (branded "Eye of Megatron", whatever that means) is once installed, you can actually adjust the angle of the LED element to match the factory reflector in the projector housing. SO now, after ditching the 4 year old HID kit I got from Ebay (probably for 20 bucks and they lasted this long) the new headlights are SO MUCH BRIGHTER and the beam pattern/cutoff is super sharp and perfectly focused. Extremely impressed with these. Plus, the fan on the back of the bulb is so quiet, I can barely hear it. We will see how well they hold up as these are my first ever LED headlight bulb kit. Few parts should be delivered to my desk today from Mazda Japan, there were a few parts/trim pieces I ordered like 2 weeks ago and they should finally be coming in. Whats nice about working in a dealership in the Parts department, is that I can order parts for my car at shop cost, so saving myself QUITE a bit of money. Slowly the Mazda is looking and performing like "New" again... which is funny because the car was already working totally fine but having these little things getting done and looking like new is so rewarding
Yea not to bad, considering if a part comes from Japan, is actually (sometimes) has been going through Canada and THEN to Texas, which is kind of strange, probably something to do with taxes or dealer distribution or what have you. The longest I waited for a part for the Mazda has been 6 weeks and that was for new seat bottom cushion/foam (with Sport Package) because they literally had to make it lol 5 months? Shit, go to AutoZone and get some ol' Monroes lol
HAHA looking at your sig, we have almost the same system...I have i3-6100, 8 gigs ram, GTX1050Ti . Looking at upgrading to a 1060Ti and an i5, one thing at a time
*x-files music* I also wanted an i5 and 1060ti, but I had a budget of 30,000 rubles ≈ 447$ . So my config the best solution with this budget in relation to Russian prices
I spent about 400 USD on my system, including the case, fans, MoBo, everything. Honestly, for the money, its the best possible build that I was able to acheive. It runs BNG rather well, I can use 3 or 4 cars at a time and not have much lag, maybe down to 40 to 50fps. Luckily, im not a FPS whore lol
It is really nice for the money, also good on energy, noise, heat etc. while still delivering good performance for most gaming. During last 2 years I think I have spend well over 2000 USD to upgrades. FPS fine as long as it does not change from 60 to anything else
Yea, while playing yesterday on the beta for Los Injurus, I had a t series, few cars, FPS started suffereing but my CPU temp never went above 65 once...voltage and temps all seem very low for the amount of performance I enjoy. Im thinking at this point, that Id prefer a new 1060 or 1080 as my first upgrade, since the i3-6100 seems to handle physics really well. Graphics card is where I appear to bottleneck, especially in Los Injurus and WCA
Are we still showing photos of our PCs? No? Ok, here's mine (taken with a really old DSLR using a tripod made out of books): [REDACTED] Currently doing an RMA on two of the case fans which started squeaking, the usual...
TDP is so low on that i3 that it might be fine without fan at all, just with massive heatsink. I have one on shelf. There is almost no difference between i7-6700 and i3-6100, only when spawning more cars. However at Los Injurus GPU probably is not the issue, 6700k would help there, at WCA 1060 or 1070, no point getting 1080 really, it does nothing more 1070 does, unless planning to run higher than 1080p using DSR or higher resolution monitor. Getting something more recent that 7700k will then be kinda pointless too, more threads will not help a bit, but 6700k does same as 7700k and at least here it is lot cheaper. That is not really subject for this thread, but sending PM on those matters is better as people, mobs, things, etc.
Watched one of my friends play Red Dead Online yesterday and I was disgusted seeing the "Gold" (aka. Shark Cards). I mean after GTA Online it was obvious that they would try to continue their greed through microtransactions but I didn't expect it to be so bad. Apart from that, it looked like the greatest grindfest since Destiny, for example: Looting someone now gives you like 3 Cent, doing a mission now gives you like 10 Dollar and how much does even changing the colour of you f-ing saddle cost? 400 Dollar. It gets even worse with changing the colour of your gun which demands 20 "Gold". Buying a horse sets you back at least 50 Dollar and then you have to buy horse insurance (really) if you don't want to lose it when some arse online inevitably kills it while you're shopping. How much is that insurance? 5 "Gold". Yeah... I think it's better waiting a few weeks until they give away Fallout 76, at least you can laugh at that.
thats obnoxious, so there are fundamental parts of the game (like the horse insurance) that you HAVE TO pay with "gold"? Thats absolutely ridiculous! If i get a horse and I need to get insurance on it so that some asshat cant steal it (or it is replaced for free), thats an important part of the game...and it should be expensive, but attainable with the in-game money. So crazy. Im probably not going to pick up RDR, I am more interested in Fallout 76..
