I don't actually think it was specifically stated, but its very likely it will. It was even in the Italy trailer. I think there may also be other evidence but I don't remember :p

    Any details on dimensions?

Looks smaller than I first imagined in the latest trailer.

Final product is probably much closer to citycars like the 600 in size.

So they shoved a compact motor into a city car?

Well, there goes the historical accuracy...

But that's not the point of Beam. The point is realism and accuracy.

Same goes for the engine. If the devs thought a more appropriate 800-900 cc engine would have been too small, it means they should have concentrated on another car or had the community live with it, just like we live with the new Pessima's dull handling or the Pigeon's instability.

whatever, it looks great and will be a welcome addition to the game. Im sure there are other configs and part swapping that can sooth the ache that the inaccuracies are causing you and Flying2yoursoul lol

Beamng has its own universe, we are not trying to reproduce real world automotive history as accurately as possible. :)

What if we had both the configs and an actually accurate Italian economy car from the 50s.

The devs thought an 800-900 cc engine would have been too weak?
Well, there's the sports model, and they could have given swap options (SBR4/old SBR flat-4? superbike engines? Ibishu I4s?)

It's not a matter of historical accuracy.

Fender gems were front binkers, not side blinkers. Piccolina has 4 front blinkers as a result.

That's a plain mistake, not historical inaccuracy...

I know, but there is a difference between making realistic cars up, and doing stuff that has no place in reality.

In a game advertised as " an authentic and visceral driving experience", having configurations for many underpowered base models (e.g. old I6 US cars, 2.2 LeGran, carbed Covet) and having actual historical cues (e.g. 5 MPH bumpers, 85 MPH speedometers), I'd expect something better than "we didn't like the realistic thing, but muh own universe".

Front round lights near the headlights are not blinkers, but position lights :)

no... imagine an alternate universe where four blinkers were mandatory in italy at that time for... some reason. it's possible, okay!

either way you can just remove them later once the car officially comes out :p

Hence why I said that this is not reality. :)

But you aren't just any unrealistic game dev team.

BeamNG is marketing itself as an accurate driving experience, yet money is not put where the mouth it in the Piccolina's design. This, together with the unrealistic engine choices of some cars, sometimes leaves me wondering whether it's not actually more marketing BS...

I have to agree with that, though I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a marketing issue. It seems to me that a “1960’s Italian Car” should follow 1960’s Italian laws (Just using the Piccolina as an example since it’s the most recent car). IMO it kinda detracts from the immersion knowing that my in game physics sim car wouldn’t have even been road legal in the setting it’s supposed to be from. In that case, what’s the point of saying it’s Italian instead of a made up country.
